why would they move either of those two? that team has four good players. all of whom are paid pretty much fair market value. i'd move none of them if i were indy. fill in around.

Bad teams stay bad for a reason. Because they make moves that make you go “why?!”. Anyway regarding our team, any rumors going around, I think Rob has earned the benefit of the doubt. We are good, but because of that other teams have made moves to get better, we can’t just stand pat and think we will win because we are the Lakers, you always have to be looking to improve if the opportunity is there, and when the championship window is here and now, you go all in.

Wasn't Trez assumed to be a one year rental anyway? He has every reason to opt out after the season and field offers far above what we can pay him. I assume our FO recognizes this and figures we're better off exchanging him for something of value that'll serve us longer term.

McGee buyout doesn’t help us. He likely goes to Nets or Mavs. He needs to be traded then bought out for us to get him.

    Whiteside? Meh.

    would prefer Rivers to Wes.

DJ/Blake, KD, Harris, Harden, Kyrie is super duper fire power - even more than KD, Klay, Steph (since Harden can do a lot more than Klay could on offense, and they have Harris on top of that).

    Lonzo on the block!

I don't want him on the Lakers but I would be interested to see who gets him (NY? LAC?)

if drummond goes elsewhere, whiteside is the only other guy who could be a difference maker on this team

no point in signing a guy like redick who will turn into a brick machine once he becomes a laker

Raptors have Norman Powell on the block

    https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/raptors-fork-road-lowry-powell-will-sell-terms/

Powell is averaging 19.5 points, 3 rebs, 1.8 assists, 49.5% from the field, 43% from 3s.

He's owed $10.8 mil this year and he has a player option for $11.6 mil for next year. He's looking to opt out and get a big contract.

If Rob could nab Powell for KCP+ / and or / Trezz+ that opens the offense spacing and makes us even more dangerous.

I’ve always liked Dieng. Can’t lie, part of me wonders if he might actually be a better fit than Drummond when we’re fully healthy.

I wouldn’t be opposed to signing both of them if we had the opportunity. Relegate Marc to more of a “player coach” role where we’d only play him in spot minutes against certain matchups where it makes sense.

I honestly think they would be happy with keeping him for the single year if they felt he was a difference maker and would get us another ring. I like Trez a lot but if we got Drummond and then had a trade offer that brought us someone close to Trez level who might bring us better 3 & D who we could sign in the off season, or who had a longer contract. You would have to consider it. I think Trez is out of here because he is likely worth more than 15 million a year and we can't pay it.

One year rental, I didn't hear many complain about that in the first place. If we could keep him and sign him to an extension, then I would consider that strongly, but I bet they have already talked to him and that idea was declined. It should be declined. If there is one guy who understands how these athletes work on their contract negotiations, it's Pelinka. I know he is doing what he has to do. Nobody knows more about how these situations work than Rob.
