they should all be vaccinated by playoff time, right? and the health and safety protocols should be adjusted accordingly (vaccines make covid more like flu, and we don't shut down players and games for flu).

but covid has already messed up parts of the season. the mavs went on a 6 or 7 game losing streak because they were missing 5 of their top 7 players, for example. now imagine you're utah and you get doncic and a fully healthy mavs team as your 8 seed opponent.

The FedGov is now claiming all adults will have access to the vaccine by May. I take that to mean a bubble playoffs won't be necessary. And FWIW, I'd gladly give up my spot in the vaccine line for a Laker (of my choosing, obvs) it it means we'll be at full strength come playoffs.

I’d give up my place in line for Danny Green, so we could make sure he’s playing if/when we meet Philadelphia in the playoffs :LLLLLebronlaughing:

Some states are opening up with no mask mandate any longer. The statistics don't bear out the need to wear one or a need for a vaccine that isn't a solution to catching COVID in the future.

It's one of the oddest times ever. Fauci has literally come out and said it's not guaranteed to work to prevent future infection. It's not truly a vaccine (According to their definition). It's using MRNA to spur the cells to make antibodies, but it isn't working?

If the survival rate under 49 years of age is 99.96%, and the incident of negative response to the "vaccine" is around 5%, I'm simply not taking it. The odds are in my favor. Better off taking care of your immune system. The CDC already admitted to inflating the COVID cases/deaths by reallocating literally every death category to COVID, and that the death rate in 2020 was no worse than previous years. Our bad influenza years was WORSE!

I'm personally sick of getting lied to, censored, and manipulated by an agenda not meant to serve the people. /end rant

That being said, not holding the playoffs or pretending it's not safe to have fans just feels so absurd. Florida refused to do a lockdown or require masks, and they have more old people that other states. Their cases are in the lower 1/3 of all states. The measures we've been taking are MEANINGLESS. Wear a mask if you want to. Do it to be considerate to others (I do). Just don't be fooled by politicians and thinking they are doing anything in your best interest.

In the beginning of this whole mess, Fauci himself said wearing masks would not do any good. Now he's advocating wearing 2? hahahahahahahahaaha. And the sheep say baaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.

(I won't respond directly to posts replying to this post since we don't want any thread to turn into a political or vaccine related thread) But seriously, the madness needs to stop. We have trillions for lining the pockets of our politicians and foreign programs, but we can't help our own citizens? Eff you government officials. Nice to see who you really care about.

Let the people have their sports and quit lying to them. It's nothing more than a power and money grab. If the media wasn't owned by who it is, you'd know that there are massive protests in every country going on. Without that coverage, you'd think you are the only one who disagrees with what is going on. It's why Parler was shut down. It's why suddenly people are censored on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms. It's about control.

That being said, Silver is in a terrible position, and they have really made the best of a very difficult time. Kudos to him. Ready for the biggest scam in human history to be over though. COVID is very real, but it's nothing like what we've been led to believe it is. It's just not. (I've had it by the way) And I'd have it 100 more times before taking the DNA altering "vaccine".

“It's so hard to believe in anything anymore. I mean, it's like, religion, you really can't take it seriously, because it seems so mythological, it seems so arbitrary...but, on the other hand, science is just pure empiricism, and by virtue of its method, it excludes metaphysics. I guess I wouldn't believe in anything anymore if it weren't for my lucky astrology mood watch.”

    ― Steve Martin

I have given up on this country. The government is pure evil. It is ALL about their power. Everyone looks the other way. Biden owns one 4.7 million dollar home and another that cost 3 million. He has a third one that I don't know anything about and he rents a home near DC that is something absurd like 12,000 square feet. So, supposedly, he has only been paid for around 50 speeches, post V. Presidency. I read that the highest he was paid was 200K for one speech, the others are less. So, maybe, before taxes he could have made as much as 7.5 million. Do the math. And really, not picking on him. They almost all do this. Sanders owns 3 homes, at least, but at least they are more modest. I mean, my sister is not rich and she owns two homes. It can be done on a budget, when the homes are modest. Biden owns really nice, expensive homes. But it's OK, he seems like an honest guy. Heck his family is so hard working and all. This can be said for so many politicians and most presidents. Of course, after a president retires, I can see them making a ton of money over a long period. But a VP??? With ONLY 50 speeches to his credit??? Just sayin'! People give Trump hell but at least he made his money the old fashioned way, legally as a morally bankrupt capitalist. But at least he wasn't working for me and taking handouts from the Chinese under the table. We all know he was doing that ....... I mean honestly, don't we? Some people can doubt it, but even they have to admit, it's a very plausible possibility.

Bottom line is, I don't know WTF to think about Covid. I don't trust anything this government will tell me. I think this particular government is one of the most globalistic governments we have ever had. I don't trust them, they are extremely power hungry and agenda driven. The way they deal with Covid scares me. But, we are two years away from retirement and I sure as heck do not want to blow our retirement years on anything. I am playing it safe because I am playing the odds. Better to be safe than sorry. Just because I think the government is a bunch of manipulating bastards, does not mean that Covid is NOT a risk. It's a risk. I just have no way to determine how much of a risk it actually is because everyone is playing games of power, manipulation and global dominance. They love to keep us in fear and at each others throats. I am pretty sure this is going to become more obvious as time goes on and they have nobody left to point their spiney little fingers at!

    Now this is a RANT!!!!!

I’m sure KAT feels the same, but the real statistics show your sister is the exception, not the rule.

we don’t shut down economies over a bad flu season

    it constantly is

just provide a link showing it's not opinion but fact

The issue is we have lots of misinformation and seemingly credible sources from different sides of the fence with completely different stories/facts/statistics. Which are real? I wouldn't trust some random fan on a basketball forum for sure.

I would just point to Florida who refused to shut down and is in the lower 1/3 of states with COVID cases. They have more older / retirees than anyone. How is this possible if they are not wearing masks and not staying home with a closed economy? Simply put, it's not.

How is it that entire countries have done the same, and have the same experience? Is there an agenda? Is there a reason Fauci has changed his stance several times and keeps moving the goal posts? Those are legitimate questions you have to answer for yourself, but in your search will find greatly differing answers.

But statistically, what we have defined a pandemic as in centuries past.... this simply doesn't qualify. If it was, we would have several dead NBA players already. That's just statistics. I'm encouraged that it's not true. I'm discouraged that we have leadership lying to us about it, and the very same leaders refuse to follow the rules they set for everyone else? Gavin Newsome anyone?

be careful what you wish for

and if you do a quick search on Florida, you'll see the numbers. But I'm pretty sure staff doesn't want the board littered with what the other forum was closed for. If someone is interested and can't find links for what they are looking for, they can PM me and if I have time, I can share some resources. I think we better leave it at that.

But to stay on topic, I'm worried very little about the health of the NBA players during this time. I'm glad they are taking precautions, but you know how I feel about the necessity of it.

I'm curious how the league will handle makeup games (Not an even distribution at this point) when it comes to who makes the playoffs.

That could play out a number of ways to advantage or disadvantage.
