The comment I was responding to is below, so number of attempts have nothing to do with it. It’s the type of shot he is taking.

Every time he has the ball, it's an attempt to cut to the basket or a dumb fadeaway.

he only plays 20mpg or so. and really what's relevant is that teams chase him out to the three point line, which changes the entire geometry of the offense, whether he's shooting or not.

he's no longer much of a low post threat (unless you put a small guy on him, i guess), but since the low post isn't exactly an offensive bonanza in today's game, i'm not sure it matters much. if we want to post, we've got AD.

I'd prefer Ariza on the wing if we add a perimeter player and if he gets bought out, but I wanted to sign GR3 in the off season. Possibly worth the addition.

    Do it Mi...I mean Rob.

Don't think the Browns would approve, but at 6-4, 271 lbs. I bet he could get after some guys on the perimeter. I'd like to see those 6 fouls against Kawhi and PG.

2-3 attempts isn't changing anything. Cousins is a better option than Gasol. Marc is shot.

Ariza is done. He would be another Green or Wes.

I honestly don’t care if we sign Cousins, doesn’t sound like we will either, but news is news

We can't score in the half court. Here's a typical crunch time possession in the last 2 weeks - we run two actions only to have LeBron receive the ball at the logo with 9 seconds left.

It feels like last year's team, which featured Dwight and JaVale.

I agree with @abeer3 , our issues are on offense, not defense. To me, Vogel's starting lineups have been proof of this. Going from Matthews to THT does not alter the defense that much, but I'm sure he wanted THT to play some point guard. It was for offense.

And let's hypothetically say Gasol was a lob threat, I'm not sure our offensive issues are magically solved. We need to hit 3's and have more movement, penetration.

For the topic of this thread, I'm hungry for the Lakers to sign a substitute center.

But when Schroeder returns, he will provide offense and put 3 or 4 players back into their comfortable positions. A lot of these issues will look smaller when he's back. Caruso at best is a combo guard. THT, while I think he can be a good point, does not have the pure speed/penetration that Schroeder has. He's a big piece for this team.

and i think there's a LOT of glossing over the fact that AD isn't playing (and wasn't 100% prior to sitting, either). this is one of the league's very best players. you don't replace these guys with hustle and grit. you lose games when they're out.

Well, there goes my dream of reacquiring Danny Green, so that we could form an All-NBA bad shooter team.

It's my understanding that if he gets traded first and then waived/buyout, we'd then be able to reacquire him.

i like the tryout. didn't realize he was teamless. i thought he looked good at times in GS.

those clamoring for an athletic backup big are getting their wish.
