Is there any doubt how Mark feels about the Last Jedi?

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but there is a lot of smoke in this direction. Clearly Thrawn is the ultimate event these shows are going to meet at, a retelling of that story in a new way, and I am definitely excited for it. On the comics front, what I’ve seen of the new High Republic thing is kind of weird, so things are very inconsistent at Disney if the right people aren’t in charge. I guess what I’m saying is STOP giving Kennedy projects.

I wouldn't mind if she gets to sit around and mess around with that High Republic initiative. It seems like it's almost in it's own pocket. If it remains in these YA novels and comics, I highly doubt they would think twice about writing over it in the movie/tv universe.

Yeah, but Yoda is in it, and he’s a legacy character too, I don’t want Yoda ruined also.

Nah that doesn’t happen, that was a bad dream that will be corrected in time. The camera will pull back to reveal this

This is an excellent video IMO, the final damning condemnation of the Disney sequel trilogy (and modern Hollywood in general). Though I don’t agree with his take on the Mandalorian obviously, the story being told is one we have been sort of promised before (end of Rebels) or gaps in time never filled in (post ROTJ, pre-Disney sequel abomination).

Kathleen Kennedy needs to go. The Gina Carano situation (completely ignoring what she said because I do NOT want to get into it) has basically been another powder keg. Lucasfilm just can't stay out of the headlines. There is always crap happening. Look at Marvel. They RARELY even have so much as a hiccup. It's constantly something. Directors fired during filming. Fired before the project starts. Employees criticizing fans. It's insane that she is able to keep her job with the CONSTANT drama.

Kennedy needed to go 5 years ago when her director drama started with the Rogue One stuff and never stopped except with that overrated hack JJ Abrams. The Gina Carano stuff I’m torn on. I hate cancel culture, and a person’s personal beliefs really shouldn’t affect (effect?) their acting job unless they’re like blatantly racist. Being stupid shouldn’t get you fired, but at the same time she just kept at it, it was like she was trying to see how far she could go and not get fired, almost make a crusade of it. But if brainwashed morons who are part of an actual dangerous cult like Tom Cruise continue to work... Carano should probably remain employed.

She shouldn't have been fired. It's just one of those things where you don't talk holocaust (despite Pedro doing it on two separate occasions). I don't think she is racist or anything. She just isn't very savvy. But to me, this is just one more PR headache. One more mismanaged situation. How do the major shareholders not step up and say, "Enough is enough." when it comes to Kathleen Kennedy? It's absolutely dumbfounding.

Honestly, and my position has changed on this over the years, but I think they fear the backlash from this very loud vocal minority in firing a woman studio head. The same people that were screaming for Carano to be fired for forever now, the same people that initially got James Gunn fired, the people that literally seek out to erase anyone or anything that has or has had in their past anything to do with something they don’t personally like. I’m not for it, you can dislike something and you can show your dislike by not watching it, not supporting it, not subscribing to it, but the crusade to cancel it all if YOU don’t like it, completely disregarding what anyone else things or feels on the subject, is out of control. And so yeah, I think Disney likely fear that Kennedy had positioned herself on the side of this particular group, one example being the whole “the force is female” stuff, and they likely don’t want the backlash of firing her.

I would bet they’re hoping to just ride it out until her contract is up in October of this year. I think that’s a fair compromise as long as she doesn’t have her fingers in any of the Favreau and Filoni stuff, but I also think/know there are people just like her or worse in the SW story group that also need to be rooted out so SW can get back on track rather than be used to push any agendas. The Pablo Hidalgo/SW Theory Twitter thing is just one example of that, no one that high up should be making fun of any hardcore fans that help keep SW constantly relevant on YouTube for getting emotional seeing Luke in the Mandalorian. I had a similar reaction to him and I’m not ashamed of it, we’re allowed to have our movie heroes and to love them, I felt so damn good for Mark Hamill after that episode and seeing how happy he was about it, I can only hope that’s not the last time he gets to be involved in showing us Luke be awesome like that again.

I really didn’t think at the time that TLJ destroyed the character of Luke, and I still wouldn’t go that far, but there’s just too much that’s happened and come out since then that makes me definitely think someone or some faction wanted to push the old characters aside and lessen them to make room for the new, and I just think that was such a horrible idea and it set the franchise back big time. Pains me we’ll never get the sequel trilogy we should have with Han, Luke and Leia, and that the Star Wars land in the Disney parks is all sequel related, because I just don’t give a crap about visiting that world. Star Tours stood on the success of the original films for decades, and so would have an entire land based on them.

She is undoubtedly being protected due to her being the lone female studio head in all of Hollywood. If she had a Y chromosome, she would have been ousted years ago. Glad to see you have come around on their overt attempt to assassinate the character of Luke. It's all so sad. They are bending the knee to this loud, vocal sliver of the population; a sliver of the population that doesn't even care about any of these properties in the first place. They are just "battlegrounds" to them.

Not sure if anyone here collects vintage figures or even remotely cares, but I just added this beauty to my collection and was so excited I wanted to share. That is all.

Not sure if it was the same in all areas, but the Gemco's in my area were turned into Targets. Got my first NES as Gemco.

The one I went to in La Habra just went vacant, then turned into a Ralphs or Albertsons I think.

But now that I think about it, I also got this at that Gemco:

Anyone watching Book of Boba Fett?

Since we can't just all have silent Mandalorians I guess Boba was written to talk a lot but I just dont like how soft he is.

He was a ruthless bounty hunter but still enjoying it. Sadly my favorite BOBF episode had no boba in it.

Glad to see all the Mando content, just afraid the day the Mando content stalls.

If Boba gets a Deadpool like rated R series where he can be ruthless and has a pain of losing a wife or child or something would've been a crazy arc.

I still have a hopes for a game of thrones like old republic Sith series for the Sith throne.
