Minus the frequent “really” high flying tomahawk jams of his younger years he’s obviously more all around skilled now and is playing what looks to be the best ball of his career. At 36 after all these seasons and post seasons. It’s unbelievable if we weren’t seeing it happen. Incredibly efficient and consistent and it’s amazing how someone that big at that age is still as fast as he is in the open court. Unbelievable passer. Boat raced the league in assists last season and turned himself into one of the best shooters and clutch shooters in the league this season.

Man I trashed Lebron every chance I had for 12 years. Started to acknowledge his greatness after coming back down 3-1 and impressed even more with taking that mostly bad Cavs team to the Finals in his last year in Cleveland. I didn’t think his game would age well, but wow, this guy really did adapt. Nobody will ever come close to Kobe in terms of my emotional attachment to an athlete, and I’d still probably pick him to win one game, but yeah, Lebron is the GOAT. I thought it would pain me to say that, but I’m at peace with it.

Hey guys I haven’t posted here in like 2 frickin years but I just wanted to say I told u so!

Totally joking. I’ve now seen that Sirronstuff is the major Bronboy on this forum and I don’t want to cause problems because he’s clearly been a huge fan since birth.

Really though I want to start posting cuz my life is boring and even though I’m more of a Bron fan than a Laker fan, watching these games brings a lot of joy to my life.

    can’t wait for the playoffs

Yeah it’s hilarious when he has a great game and people say “he hasn’t lost a step” when the reality is he’s not half as athletic as he used to be. He’s obviously still “athletic” but this LeBron skillset wise with his old athleticism would have dominated the league in a way that has never been seen before and that includes MJ.

I saw that Gilbert and D Wade recently said this is the best LeBron they’ve ever seen and even though I get what they’re saying, I don’t agree. This is the most skilled LeBron but late Heat LeBron or even 2018 LeBron is way better, the thing is AD fits soooooo much better than Wade. People really underestimate fit.

Lebron working on his 3 and mid range/fadeaway game is what's gonna keep him going for another 2-3 years. I truly believe he'll retire after he plays with his son in the NBA

yeah, he's nowhere near the athlete he was 10 years ago, but his shot has improved so much that on offense he's probably as devastating as ever. he's not quite the menace he was defensively, but his high iq is huge there, too.

Jordan has 2 more title, 2 more finals MVPs, and a regular season MVP on him. It will be hard for him to pass Jordan as the Goat without at least one more finals title and finals MVP

That being said - Jordan had the easier path.
-Lebron got screwed by playing for the Cavs whose management lost his horace grant in Boozer for nothing and traded/used multiple first rounds picks on Jiri Welsh, Luke Jackson, and Sasha Pavlovic
-for all the crap those bulls gave Krause: he was a very good GM. Drafted Grant, Pippen from a no name school, found Kukoc. ditched Collins and promoted PJ

-Jordan in his youth faced tough tough competition between the C Bags and Piston but then expansion came and he faced a bunch of minnows. Those "tough" Knicks team would lose in the second round and come on the Utah Jazz couldn't do s*** till Magic and Hakeem got old
-Lebron had the opposite happen, he had one of the greatest players ever go to a super team which was already better then any team Jordan beat in the playoffs. Also another dynasty team ended up drafting a dude who also will be one of the best players at his position (Those Spurs team were insane)

That being said 6 titles with 6 finals mvps in 8 years is one hell of a run

Do I hate Lebron? I just can't give him the GOAT torch.

I always thought I can give an unbiased opinion outside of jokes, but I would still pick bean 10/10 times to build a team off of.

There is no other complete player IMO and you have a closer in the game. Something I still think Lebron doesn't EXCEL at.

Really hits back when Kobe was having a career year before the Achilles at such a mature age.

He's not GOAT yet for me. That'll be Kareem all the way. But he's getting there!! It's not so far off any more as a possibility. To me he's already surpassed Jordan but I get why some say he needs another ring. If he gets two more I don't think there's any question any longer. He'll have 6 and he'll have gone to the Finals at least 12 times! It's even feasible that he will pass KAJ in scoring which would be insane.

    But . . . not there yet!

I kinda agree with Gilbert and Wade. Yes, his athleticism has declined but with how the game is played today, being athletic won't help you if teams start zoning you out. I remember in 2013 where the Spurs were still trying to dare LeBron to shoot and leave him wide open. Think about if you tried doing that now... LeBron would burn you. You don't leave LeBron wide open from anywhere on the court right now. Defensively, yes, he's not the same defender he was 8 years ago but I just don't think LeBron really cares to play elite defense until it matters. He's stepped up defensively for the Lakers when the games required him to do so many times. The elite defense is still there but it's just going to be only for games that matter. One thing I will miss are the dunks. Man, prime LeBron had some insane level dunks that he would showcase vs the Lakers during Christmas games every time... Used to make me sick watching it but if he were a Lakers doing those dunks with fans in the arena, man, the arena would be rocking. So is this the best LeBron we have ever seen? I don't know - it's close. But with how the game is played today and LeBron seemingly improving other areas of his game as he gets older, it certainly can be argued that if he wins a ring this season against competition like Brooklyn, LAC, Milwaukee, Philly, etc., why can't a case be made that LeBron is simply just the best we've seen? You can't guard LeBron now. He can pick you apart by passing, attacking the rim, shooting, stepback, etc., Back then, it was just I'm going to drive to the rim and yam the ball. Look at how teams are playing Giannis right now.

Btw, these are the Christmas dunks vs the Lakers that had me boiling when I saw it live. Dude was embarrassing the hell outta us

    LeBron this season:

    Career high 3P%
    Career high 3PA

Per minute production compared to his career highs:
    2nd highest rebounding season
    5th highest assists season
    4th highest points season

May be playing hurt and sucking it up. I mentioned same in the AD thread just now. That adductor muscle attaches in groin area but we don't know where in its length it was compromised. Or .... you too might be right and "Bulletin Board Dudley" needs to have a heart to heart with him?

"Chop it off" and then, leave it all on the floor. Or are they all like AC and wait for the playoffs ;)

Would you chop something off near your groin?

Settled for way too many jumpers in the 4th and was not assertive...holding the ball too long, indecisive and just looked checked out

Edit: Redeemed himself late in 2OT. But come on all those minutes logged was unncessary if he and the team had put DET away in the 4th

Turned the ball over too many times as well... Not exactly a good LeBron game but it happens to the best of them.

Got to admit Jeremi Grant does a pretty good job on him. Lebron will still get his one or way another but Grant makes him work
