Well, you're gonna like this too. Of course, small sample size, etc, but . . .

Isn't it crazy that the Lakers are #2 in three point shooting this season? Now that we don't have Danny Red missing wide open threes, our three point shooting is up there with the best.

    Defense, check.
    Three point shooting, check.
The best player in the game, check.
Best defensive player in the game, check.

I don't see the Lakers losing!

I still can't believe we went from the outhouse to the penthouse with our 3 ball. And I think as we go along Wes' % will bump up too. Without signing a specialist (JJ, Korver, etc), we're a team you cannot leave anyone but Trez open from 3.

I love the fact that NO came out red hot shooting at 60% to our 40% in the first half and yet they were only up 1. Then we just clamped down on them for the rest of the game and ended up dominating.

Also... I came out of watching that game thoroughly unimpressed with this new "stardom" of Ingram. Kuz could have done that on this godawful team. Heck, he arguably did better alongside Bron and AD.

I keep saying this but everyone wants to call him a star. He isn't. He never will be.

Saw a tweet saying Marc is averaging more blocks per 36 than Dwight and Javale combined .

    He's done though !

This season we’re shooting 42% on wide open 3’s. Good for 7th in the league.

    Last season we shot 37%.

The very definition of addition by subtraction (looking at you DG)

thank you. i keep arguing with my friends who point to ingrams stats as the sole basis as to why he is better than kuz.

i keep saying put kuz on the pelicans and he puts up similar numbers.

im not going to fully say kuz = ingram but its closer than many think

    Really?

Would love to see that tweet but will take your word. Seems hard to believe. I still think Marc additionally gets a little more in shape even as the season goes on and a little quicker and a little better. His passing ability and smarts are .....

yeah, i haven't wanted to jinx it, but that's been a big positive so far. teams counted on us missing those shots last year.

We played like absolute garbage and shot the ball horribly...and we still won by double digits.

I have some stats for those three from Basketball Reference, but am too dumb to do the math and convert the numbers to 36 min. Anyone here that can do better than my middle-school math proficiency should be able to figure it out. But it does look like Gasol’s blocks per 36 look close to Dawight and JaVale’s combined, but a tad less.

    Gasol, 19.7 min, 1.6 blocks
    Dawight, 16.7 min, .6 blocks
    JaVale, 16.9 min, 1.1 blocks

Thanks Johnny. Ahh, they’re talking about “this year” cumulatively between JaVale and Dwight. I was thinking last year.... why hard to believe. Wow they have really dropped off it seems and Wow Gasol.

Lakers’ biggest improvement leads to debate: Who’s their best three-point shooter?

    https://www.latimes.com/sports/lake...three-point-shooting-lebron-james-alex-caruso

After all our years of sucking from deep this is a fun article and there's some debate amongst themselves who's the best. AD's comments are fun.

Excerpt below (and the obvious answer   )

While Vogel brought up James as “probably the best shooter on our team,” there could be a friendly debate. James is making 38.2% of his threes, the second highest of his career. But Caruso is second in the NBA, making 58.3% of his threes, and Caldwell-Pope is fourth making 55.3%.

in fairness, a lot of things go into this. i watched dwight some last night and thought he looked great, tbh. wish he had stayed. but he didn't, and we don't miss him unless someone gets hurt.

and gasol is just a better basketball player than mcgee and howard, even in his current form.
