Looked like a well oiled machine tonight, like a team rounding into playoff shape, except that we've played 12 games. Hope we keep crushing it like this all season.

Having KCP back and (more importantly) AD dialed in pushes us to that elite tier defensively.

Well, that was a near perfect game if I've ever seen one. Doesn't suck that it was against Houston and that it kind of broke Soften and he basically said goodbye in the post game.

I mean, total domination defensively, AD with 5 blocks, Lakers shot 50%, over 40% on threes, Kuz with the double double 11 and 11. Lebron and AD only had to play 29 minutes each on the first night of a back to back.

Good stuff! And we are still undefeated on the road.

    2 in the top 10.

Note: our shotblockers that we lost in the off season aren't on there.

What is Dikembe Turner doing out there?! 4 blocks a game?

that's what happens when you have small ball players and lose your small ball coach.

I think we still have a shot at my pre-season fantasy / semi-possibility. Boogie just laying out Harden in the locker room. Maybe even Wall. Both these guys went through hell with their achilles and other injuries rehabbing just to get back on the court and try to resurrect their NBA careers, only to be stuck with this cancer half a**ing it out there because he’s unhappy and fat.

Team looks a lot different with KCP back. Kuzma just didn't make sense as a SG. Speed is better, rotations are better, and spacing is better.
He's like JR Smith guy on the Cavs title team: maybe the 4th best player on the team but without him the big pieces don't move as smoothly.

Pretty bad decision by a lot of NBA teams not to make a run on at him

Until garbage time and Yakkety Sax should have been piped into the building. Got a little sloppy but yeah jugglerknot earlier.

Same scenario as last year .... lose opening night to a-hole Clippers and then start running up the best record in the league and not losing on the road. Except we are a better and deeper team than last year’s championship squad.

Lakers #1 defensive team, best record in the NBA, 4-5 new players, good contracts all around... Lakers have a great present and future.

Dunno. Just found it on twitter. It is sorta getting stuck in my head though, so don't think I'm escaping any karma here.

Not sure I'd go so far as to say he's the 4th best. The top 4 players on the team in no particular order are Alex Caruso, Alex Caruso's hair, Alex Caruso's heart, and Alex Caruso's grit.

Looks like we put the nail in the coffin on Beard's time in Houston as well.

Getting back to a Lakers tradition.

Embarrassing teams/players so bad, ruining childhoods of their young fans like Kobe use to do.

That’s how good this team is.

Man we’ve seen the Lakers end so many teams over the last 20 years. The Pippen Blazers, Webber Kings, Nash/Hill Suns, Melo Nuggets, now the Harden Rockets, you love to see it.

For all the talk of losing defense and height over the offseason (myself talking included), defensively we currently rank:

#1 in points allowed per possession
    #2 in opponent FG%
#2 tied for blocks per possession

    Who would have thought?
