I read that Russ's approach to the game was 180 degrees opposite of the culture Harden had established, which overrode his alleged friendship with him dating back to their teens I believe. Russ ran a tight ship in Houston. On time practices, plane flights and no nonsense approach to the game. Vs .... well we have all been reading about how Harden preferred to roll.

Their track record with signing vet FAs is pretty awful and it rarely works.

Brewer, Ariza, Dedmon and then the VC and Z-Bo off-season

Can you imagine if your star misses a whole week during the playoffs? They have to return to the Bubble for the 2nd half of the season and playoffs

KD just played last night, Im surprised the entire Nets team isn't being asked to quarantine

Maybe by the time we get to playoffs, 1) vaccines will be widely distributed to the point that exposure to COVID is lessened and/or 2) players will be extra careful, given the implications. But yeah, you absolutely cannot have marquee players missing a week or more in the postseason. I assume Silver and co. are already figuring out what to do.

being held together with duct tape right now. my daughter's school sending messages on the eve of the return begging folks to stop sending kids to school sick. with our terrible public health response in general, the bubble was the only way to succeed. silver's not dumb enough not to have seen this coming. they're just trying to ride out the storm while a) playing enough games to satisfy tv contracts and b) getting things in order for the playoffs.

it's why they're doing the hokey play-in thing. they don't want to risk a marquee team/player being completely left out because of stuff like this.

Maybe I haven't been on the political page enough to notice, but this is the one group I felt could talk politics over there without turning into a fiasco the last few years. Did something happen over there or what?

lets just say that section and specifically the trump and covid topics were a microcosm for our whole society since 2016 and even before.

people who always got along, all the sudden on opposites sides fighting bitterly.

if it can happen with lakers fan it can happen anywhere lol

Guys - let's try to be good to each other.

EDIT: I said no more Vaccine talk and I meant it.

    NO MORE!!

I will start handing out warnings if people don't want to follow this request. We've had to deal with far too many arguments on politics for a forum that isn't even about politics. NO MORE! Take it somewhere else

This is the last reminder without official warnings being handed out.

Kinda hard not talking politics these days when every damn thing, at every corner you go to has some BS politics tied to it.

Very true, but it takes every discussion way off topic from the Lakers and takes way too much policing to stop all the arguments.

Better to just stay away from it for now. It's just too hot.

Hopefully our most hotly contested arguments this year revolve around players’ playing time.

Our roster is stacked. Some won’t get consistent minutes. As a coach I suppose that’s an issue you’d love to have.

hopefully the pandemic doesn’t play a role in the NBA championship this year, but if the NBA has shown anything, they are top notch among their peers in handling all challenging social situations. We’re in good hands.

I don't want to know what anyone's politics are. Makes running a non-political site impossible to moderate.

We’re all on the same side. Pro-Lakers.

    That’s really all that matters

    :Carusoshaka:

The rest of the stuff is pure background noise. Most of us would go to Temecula to have each other’s back if needed. Might as well keep it that way.
