Not sure if I’ve seen this before for the Lakers

our 3pt % was higher than the overall shooting %

    is this real life?

yes and no. schroder and trez aren't great defenders, and they're getting lots of minutes that would have been filled by say, bradley and howard last year. but even as a defense-first guy, i think the benefits outweigh the costs here.

but i also think that not having caruso hurts our defense, too. also, turning the ball over a ton, making life more difficult for the defense is a thing.

I do miss our rim protection. Felt weird seeing so many layups given. No numbers, just feel from watching the games.

Reminds me greatly of Bradley being a pest constantly with his speed and staying in front of his man. So far. Bradley only had about 5 lbs on him but a couple inches in height. But Dennis gets him an inch on wingspan also looked up .... 6'8" to 6'7".

Mix in all the plusses on offense over Avery and no contest. Still annoyed Bradley bailed from the Bubble allegedly for fear of bringing something home to his young son, yet here he is playing and flying all over the place with no bubble.

Defense is effort. Lakers are pacing themselves. Lakers know if they are healthy going into the playoffs, everyone is (bleep).

Uuuuugly game tonight, especially AD’s bad shooting. But you know what, I’ll take the W.

maybe? he does do some bradley-ish things in terms of ball pressure, which is nice.

well, they didn't get up for portland or the clippers, so maybe we should be happy with the boring schedule for now?

oh, and we need to keep an eye on the smallball teams running those 4/5 pick and roll type plays. you can't let them beat up on us like that and not take advantage of the fact that they're tiny on the other end.

i think vogel's aware, though, based on some of his comments.

My WMC: It is difficult for me to get emotionally invested in these games because (a) the stakes are low compared to the championship run it feels like we just experienced and (b) we’re too good and I know there are games we will coast but likely come out victorious anyways.

Like Lebron’s clutch sequences in the last few minutes, I wish I would have had a hyped up reaction. But instead my reaction was a slight chuckle and “of course”.

(Yes, this is more of a stealthy optimistic post then a genuine WMC)

kuz is inconsistent as ever n D goes to hell with Trez/Ad lineup, Vogel needs a better defensive game plan with Trez in, teams are attacking him every chance they get

Worst +/- on the team was with THT. Was he targeted also? Just curious since I couldn’t watch.

Thought it was more him just being a green 20 year old kid and the accompanying growing pains. Still has a lot of learning to do, but having shown what he has, you have to take the good with the bad

yeah, i couldn't watch, but i've seen teams figuring out THT a bit early on. he'll adjust, but it will take time. he's not making the most out of kcp and the eagle being unavailable, though.
