Lakers are so stacked right now that the biggest issue will be players getting upset with how their minutes are being distributed. If this were an 82 game season, I'd bet the Lakers would win at least 68 games...
Team could use some length at C. I miss having players like Javale/Howard that you can basically throw it up high and they would flush it. Harrell does bring more energy and is more mobile but is not a threat length-wise
Prediction? Parade. 72 game season.... I'll go 52 wins. Davis wins DPOY. Bron ties Kobe and Magic with 5 rings.
Showtime era was an amazing 7 or 8 players. We go 11 deep. But we are missing that 3rd James Worthy type star. Last year we thought it might be Kuz. He may be #11 this year. Who will it be this year?
The 2nd unit has 4 guys who want to score 15+. 4 high volume, high usage guys, one of them has to step back Schroeder/THT/Kuzma/Harrell....who will it be...
Maybe they each sit out the 4th game so that 3 can eat every game. Otherwise the cream will rise to the top, or we'll be incredibly unpredictable, and it will be whoever has it going that particular night.
I think it'll be THT just cause he's not to be getting the minutes the other 3 are. If he's in the rotation, he's not getting the 24-30 min that Trez and Schroder are getting. If you're specifically speaking to when the 4 are on the floor together, I imagine Kuz. He can't create for himself to the degree the other 3 can. Also a lot will depend on Schroder and his ability to run the offense. The P&R game with Trez will also be key in opening up secondary actions in the offense.
I'm reminded of Del Harris sitting young Kobe because there just weren't enough guard minutes with Nick the Quick and Eddie Jones ahead of him. Big mistake. You don't sit developing talent like that when the talent is in the "special" category.
When both LeBron and AD did nothing but sing Vogel's praises as Head Coach, it's time to give the man his respect.
So who starts tonight? Of course Lebron and AD and most likely Gasol. The question is the guards. All preseason I've been pushing for KCP and Wes, our best two guard defenders and shooters from deep. But somehow I just have a feeling Vogel is going to go with Schroder tonight starting at the one. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Kuz at the 2 given Kawhi's size. Rather have Wes though, he's just better defensively.
