I was at that game in Philly. I got game and plane tickets a couple days before when I realized LBJ would pass Kobe in Philly. Flew back from Philly the next morning, landed home, turned my phone on... Yeah...
Still can't believe that if COVID happened a few weeks earlier, Kobe would have never been anywhere near that helicopter... The world has been weird as hell since Kobe's death.
cool Kobe tid bits from this article https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/shammgod-streetball-new-york-nba
Very few will ever have the impact that Kobe has in terms of inspiring people. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...kobe-bryants-death-hes-a-leader-hes-fearless/ "Well after my father died, the organization kind of was, we lost our leader, and things were not going well for us, and Kobe, being the person that he is, the friend that he is, the mentor that he is, invited me to lunch, because he knew I was struggling. When I showed up for lunch, he brought Gianna with him, and he said 'I brought Gianna with me because I wanted her to see a strong woman, and what a businesswoman can be, and what you stand for'. And that meant so much to me, it touched my heart, and it seemed like he was doing it for Gianna, but I really believe that he was doing it for me, to remind me of what I could be in this business world and that I belonged in the NBA. He was such a great motivator and friend and a caring person, and that void will never be filled." Who even thinks of something like this? The level of intuition Kobe had to know exactly what to do is surreal to me.
Wow there's the moist eyes again for Kobe and Gianna. I read the article in the link first and then copied the exact same paragraph to post with my first sentence before seeing you had already done it.
you should read the article i posted abov his. has some really good kobe and gianna stuff. i didnt include the gianna stuff in the quotes so peep the article. you wont be disappointed
I truly believe Gianna would have saved the WNBA. Right now, it's looking like a dead sport that is on life support thanks to the NBA. I would have watched Gianna Bryant. The problem with the WNBA is that everyone is too nice and don't have that media personality that draws attention. Gianna, by all accounts, is the female Kobe Bryant. She would have marketed the hell out of the WNBA and drew eyes...
Definitely. I was already an excited Gianna fan and would have followed her career like Kobe’s almost. And Kobe came with that story of course. Damn it!!
More Kobe, more Gianna and Gilbert Arenas. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/gilbert-arenas-60-point-game-162554624.html
Kobe's Mother in Law seeks small fortune, suing Vanessa. Lovely. Vanessa Bryant, widow of Kobe Bryant, condemns lawsuit from mother seeking back pay, support LOS ANGELES -- Vanessa Bryant, the widow of Kobe Bryant, has denounced a lawsuit from her mother claiming she is owed years of pay for working as an unpaid assistant and support promised by the basketball legend, who was killed in a helicopter crash in January. Bryant issued a statement Thursday saying her mother was trying to "extort a financial windfall," the Los Angeles Times reported. The 48-page lawsuit filed by Sofia Urbieta Laine, 68, claims that Kobe Bryant "promised to take care" of her for life. "Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant's promise did not see the light of day as he is now deceased and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe's promises," the lawsuit claims, asserting that Vanessa Bryant never intended to honor those wishes. Kobe Bryant, 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others died Jan. 26 when their helicopter crashed in the hills of Calabasas. Financial experts estimate Vanessa Bryant inherited control of an estate worth up to $600 million, the Times reported. Vanessa Bryant's statement said she and her husband allowed her mother to live for free in one of their properties on the Newport Beach coast but never promised her anything or discouraged her from providing for herself. "She was a grandmother who was supported by me and her son-in-law at my request," Vanessa Bryant said. "She now wants to back charge me $96 per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years for watching her grandchildren. In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers." Vanessa Bryant said that earlier this year she began looking for a new home for her mother and that her mother gave a TV interview in which she claimed she was being forced out of her home and to return a luxury car. "Even after that betrayal, I was willing to provide my mother with monthly support for the rest of her life, and that wasn't good enough," Vanessa Bryant said. "She, instead, contacted me through intermediaries -- contrary to what she claims, my phone number hasn't changed -- and demanded $5 million, a house and a Mercedes SUV."
Kobe and Vanessa have despicable parents. Wow. What the f***?! Your daughter just lost her husband and daughter, your granddaughter. What kind of scum sucking heathen sues their own daughter at a time like this?
Money changes people, very sad. That or it allows their true inner grossness to come out, same thing in the end I guess.
