Fun lineup. Would be great to have Kuz and THT really play well especially.

None of these guys have looked great.

Kuzma needs to hit some of these catch and shoot jumpers
Harell has trouble with Zubac's size
    Schroeder looks like he's bored
THT is showing promise but he's not finishing

Caruso looked good as always but I don't think they want to risk any injury for him

I know it’s just preseason, but I think we will miss Mcgee/Dwights athleticism and length in the paint. It really effected how teams would not want to attack too much after getting blocked or hitting a Dwight shoulder. I remember players would aways comment on how damn long and strong the Lakers were.

I also think Rondo’s passing will be missed. Schroder doesn’t have the “wow” type of assist in him. Hopefully Gasol’s passing will make up a little for that.
Wes will be better for us than Green on both ends, but guards will have a field day breaking down our guards and getting to the hoop without long rim protectors.

Are you forgetting about a lot more Caruso and KCP on the perimeter? And Gasol for that matter is still elite at protecting the rim based on last season’s numbers. And we have this up and comer Anthony something that is supposed to be decent at the rim.

I get the concern, but also tonight we had our two biggest players in AD and Gasol sit. Things will be very different when they play.

This won't happen in the regular season but odd running so much Cook and Schroeder.
Really thought they would emphasized getting Harrell used to playing with his new PnR partner and they barely ran it when I watched

There's going to be a lot of experimenting with lineups and rotations during the preseason.

Well, it's preseason, why have other teams scout it, Dennis and Trezz will have it in their back pocket later in the season

They only ran it a few times at most, and it wasn’t good, those 2 definitely need time to get on the same page, and I think they will. Cook only played because KCP was out and Caruso was hurting, the lineup with him and Schroder was not great for sure.

It’s pre-season, come back halfway through the season if we look like this still.

Kuz took a lot of GT heat last night considering THT and he were highest minutes by far (37 and 38) in a 9 man rotation ..... and highest scorers in the 1st pre season game after only 4 days of short practices and no typical balling before “camp” in this Covid wracked year.

I thought it was cool beating the tenants while resting 4 out of 5 starters. Takeaways: man, THT's wingspan is huge. I almost forgot his crazy arm length. Nice to see him play well and fill up the stat sheets. Kuz didn't shoot particularly well and that's been my biggest concern for him. On the other hand he gave out quite a few dishes creating for others, so I liked that.

Love Trez's energy. Almost a double double in the first half. Nice to have him on board. Schroder as starting point guard doesn't seem like a good idea. It didn't before and though it's a small sample size I just don't see him in there much when Lebron is. Or maybe he'll be better off ball? But his idea that he will be the PG and Lebron will play off ball doesn't fly from anything I saw out there.

Yeah, I was very unimpressed by what I saw from Schroder last night. I'm guessing he was just easing his way into a rythym.

Yeah, probably so. He just didn't seem great at PG duties. Nothing has convinced me to stray away from what I originally thought about the starting lineup I'd like to see: Lebron, KCP, Wes, AD and Gasol. There's enough passing there with Gasol and Lebron to conduct the offense. Schroder just seems like a great bench addition when Lebron is out and possibly good off ball occasionally with him. I guess Schroder might have the rest of pre-season to prove his case, but I think this is the most likely scenario for him.

Well, he won't have a second defender shadowing him the entire game with AD and Lebron on the floor. Preseason games for vets who have nothing to prove usually kick it.

My criticisms are tempered by them only having a few days of practice and only nine guys available to play.... eight once AC got injured.

I thought they looked pretty good considering the circumstances.

Body language is definitely tricky to judge but he definitely gave out some this is preseason and it's stupid vibe. I was really hoping to see some PnR with him and he didn't look very good running it lol
