Exactly. These two things are totally different. When Kobe hurt himself he already was well on the decline. Lebron is signing his when he is still the clear best player in the league.

Kind of surprised they took care of him before figgering out AD’s contract.

But since Klutch and Rob for both I guess I won’t be sending off any questioning emails to Jeanie.

First of all, well deserved. The guy comes to LA, rescues the franchise from the abyss, wins the championship, opens the door for more stars to join in the future. Great work ethic, superb leadership, no real signs of slowing down at 35. Yes, he plays a little differently now and will probably continue to refine his game as he gets older.

Now, technically speaking this is not a 2-year extension so much as him picking up his player option and adding one more year to it, right?

Regardless, great job Bron, great job Rob! Looking forward to few more years of this.

so does this pretty much guarantee he'll finish his career in LA?

unless he plans to leave after this contract finishes to play a season with bronny wherever he lands

Yes, Shams and the others reporting on it aren't being very clear on it but it does seem like this is just Bron picking up his player option year for next season so it's just one more year of Bron in reality. Can't complain. Lakers 3-Peat here we come

Seems too early to tell to me to be fair, but the presumption he’ll make it directly out of high school is pretty far fetched.

but I bet he gets drafted if the team thinks they can get LeBron for a year or two.

If the NBA amends the rule, it's entirely possible Bronny will get drafted just because of the publicity and possibility of luring LeBron would bring. Even at LeBron's old age, people will still tune in to watch him and his son. It'd be ratings galore for that team. Some NBA teams are just operating because it's profitable. They know they have zero chance of winning a title.
