I think Pau is done and has been for a couple years. He’s 40 years old now, started his career in ‘01/‘02. I think if we had more room for purely locker room leadership guys he could join, but I don’t know, I still think we keep Dudley for that role. I love the idea of him retiring as a Laker, but I genuinely think he’s done.

I'd do it just to boost the team chemistry. He could be this year's Dudz, but it would be more meaningful with Pau. He'd be with his brother, and he'd also bring some of the Lakers mythos along with him, having played with Kobe and won championships for the team already.

This assumes we're good standing pat with our current roster, since we wouldn't actually be relying on Pau for anything on the basketball court.

Pau could maybe play 5 minutes per game (but not every game) after his last injury, where he fractured his foot. On top of the fact that he's 40.

Yes, I'd love to see him on the Lakers again. :h:

But I'd also love to see Artest play for us again, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

this is exactly why i wanted whiteside. yes, we are a better team than we were last year, but we are missing the athleticism they provided as 7 footers both on offense and defense. other than AD and Montrez who is only 6'8 we dont really have any rim protectors or guys known to catch lobs. im not sold at gasols ability to do much of that anymore

If it was truly injuries holding him back the last couple of years, he would be functional in a back up role for a few minutes one game a week.

high IQ, great person, probably has a few highlights left

playing together with his brother in the NBA would be a dream come true I’m sure

I mean I guess I’d take him as a 15th man once all positions are filled by useful players, but then if we suffer a key injury we don’t have an open spot to use, and who are we going to cut then? It can’t be Pau, because that’d be a terrible look. I love the dude, but he routinely got abused on defense the last time he was here, and that was 2014, so I can’t even imagine how bad he is now. But again, if it’s a 15th man role and he replaced Dudley, and we already had a legit backup like Dedmon, ok, sure.

whiteside wouldn't have had much of a role with this current roster, so no surprise he took the kings offer

would prefer dedmon anyways since he can shoot

I think he would be very good wing player to have.

I have yet to see any Portland fan wanting Whiteside back. If Whiteside couldn't fix his attitude with Dame/CJ on his squad and also, Spoelstra and Pat Riley couldn't help him, then why do you guys think it would be any different for the Lakers? It would just be unnecessary drama. Whiteside has nice numbers because that's all he cares about. Eventually, GM's caught on and see that he was chasing individual numbers over team success. No reason the leading shotblocker of the league doesn't get enough interest and a team like the Kings have to sign him.

Definitely on my list. He'd be a great get for that wing defender I want for the bench.

Filling out the rest of the roster, I think the Lakers would want Jared back. Cause of chemistry and the man has been recruiting for the Lakers. He got us Wes. And we all want to see Pau back and have him retire as a Laker. If the Lakers want a wing player, how about Michael Kidd-Gilchrist? Former #2 pick, NCAA Champion, known for his defense in college and still young at 27 years old.

Glenn Robinson III 26 years old averaged 11 PPG and shot 48% FG's and 39% from 3.

Gerald Green - Didn't play last year cause he undergone surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot and would be sidelined for approximately six months. 2019 he play decent off the bench.

Thabo Sefolosha - 36 year old veteran who was 2010 All-Defense Team

Iman Shumpert - 30 years old but hasn't shot the ball well especially his team 3 point shot. Numbers went down since 2018. He was a 2011 ACC All-Defensive Team. 3 & D player but his shooting numbers worry me.

Marco Belinelli - Points went way down cause of his minutes went down. But still shot 37% from 3.

Allen Crabbe - Had a great few years shooting the ball but hasn't been the same since having right knee arthroscopy surgery last year.

Andre Roberson - Hasn't played much since having ruptured his left patellar tendon in 2017. Doesn't have a jump shot but he is a great defender and still in his prime at 28 years old.

Yuta Watanabe - 2018 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year. Didn't play much with the Grizz but during his 2 years with their G-League team, he averaged 15 PPG 48% FG's 34% from 3 82% FT 2 APG 6 RPG 1 SPG 1 BPG. And his favorite player and team is Kobe and the Lakers.

Which wing player do you guys want the Lakers to take a chance on?

Why do the Clippers want everything we have or want? Rob should leak that the Lakers are interested in Adam Morrison and I guarantee that the Clippers would also be interested right after.

I'd sign Pau. Why not? He's a backup backup at this point! I'd love to see it.

Pau needs to retire so he can get into the hall of fame in 5 years so the Lakers can retire his jersey next to Kobe.

You guys need to really focus on those who can play. Boogie, Pau, etc. These guys are done. Lakers are in the business of winning championships not run a senior citizen facility.

Damn it, NBA denied the Lakers request to remove Deng's salary off the books... Reported by Shams. Deng 1, Lakers 0.
