According to LG, the Clips can offer more If they use the BAE.

So, about 500K more or so...just going from LG.

I mean: we've done everything we could: we're in a position to offer him more money by trading JaVale, he has a role here, he just came off a championship season, the roster has improved...

We've done everything for him except sign on the dotted line for him.

If he bolts, it isn't an indictment on Rob.

maybe part of that $64M "welcome to the fam" was Kieff jumping ship... you are absolutely right: definitely not an indictment on Rob as we have done everything in our power to facilitate this deal.

we've done a great job thus far -- just need to wrap up this FA with a pretty bow.

No, but that's a decent alternative.

Was looking at Dedmon, but he apparently forgot how to shoot...

He and his brother are extremely close and always have been (as most folks know but I actually have some friends from my KU days who know the twins). I would not be surprised at all if playing with his brother again is a huge factor here. (As always, take that for it’s worth)

    Interesting.

I would think it would be a bigger deal.if they were in different cities; heck, they're in the same market and probably live in the same place.

How much closer can you get apart from playing with one another?

If I was Markieff, I would stay on the Lakers. If I was not going to make the money his brother is and not get more minutes, I would opt for a better chance at more rings. At least he would get bragging rights. His brother could pay for all the booze and dinners and he could brag about being a 2 or 3 time champ!! Easy decision for me.

Yeah Markieff/Marcus are the type of twins you just imagine always being around each other since they were babies. They probably still sleep in the same bunk beds considering they always get matching tattoos:

To be honest, I can't even tell them apart either. I always "forget" which one is the better basketball player lol. Their games are almost identical also where there's no real drop off from one to the other. It kind of even makes you wonder why the clippers would want them both.... they do the exact same thing lol.

Having said that, I could see Markieff signing a 1 year deal with the Clippers for the extra $500k (with the hopes he gets their MLE the following season after the Clippers paid big for Marcus). That way they can continue travelling on road trips together and sleeping in the same bunk beds....

I think we ultimately win out because of that.

But from my understanding they are definitely the “do literally everything together” type of twins.

As long as it's everything and not everyone, I think it's kind of cool.

I suspect the Clippers are interested mainly to pull him from us. He makes little sense on their roster.

I think Dario could do a lot more than what he has been doing in PHX, but hey... it's a solid contract.

i was interested in him as a deep bench sf; think he got unfairly maligned because someone overpaid him. smart player, big enough to guard most sfs. good ball skills for a non-guard.

that does sound like it. weird that his brother got that huge deal, and he's having to choose between minimums despite being basically as valuable.
