    You called him an elite defensive center which pretty much tells me you haven't watched Whiteside play at all is the problem.

    Yeah let's give it to Baynes who never lead the league in the blocks and also bounces around from team to team. Wish Whiteside had a man bun as sweet as Baynes then maybe we can give him the veterans minimum lol

    The problem with Whiteside isn't his game, it's his emotional state. He cried about shot opportunities in Miami and then went to Portland and cried about playing time once Nurkic started getting more minutes. How would Whiteside adjust playing 10-15 minutes or zero minutes in certain games? Is that a player you want on your team? Even with Dwight, who is 100x more accomplished than Whiteside, the Lakers were cautious. Whiteside is an entirely different problem.

    Glad to get Gasol, hopefully re-signing Markieff is next. And then we still need another center. Gasol and Harrell as our centers is not very deep.

    Gasol may not even play a big role in regular season, but makes me much more confident for next year's playoffs for sure. Great pickup and evens out our core roster quite well.

    Yup. I was reading on the Blazers forum yesterday, he's good when he tries but he disappears alot. His attitude and Laker pressure might not be what you want.

    Gasol will be very effective playing 15-20 min a game. Good attitude, good passer and big body. Lakers win here.
