I'd have taken something like Augustin+ Harkless for the full MLE over Montrez . If both KCP and Morris left , we would lose both some defensive identity ( both KCP and Bradley not replaced) and small ball lineup versatility ( Morris) coming playoffs time . At least it looks like now we won't lose KCP without getting his replacement . I was assuming the worst case scenario with only Wes and THT as our SG
Rob Pelinka and Andrew Friedman are showing the sports world that they are the best at their jobs in their respective sports. Dodgers should have 3 World Series right now if not for cheating scumbags in 2017 and 2018. Lakers are one more big transaction away from likley repeating. Pretty nuts that the Lakers and Dodgers have every chance to repeat the repeat.
If Lebron seriously is an alien and extends his prime by just 2 more years, is there any doubt, barring injuries, he 3-peats?
If he gets to 7 it's tough to argue against him. Similar to me being a Montana fan, but can't argue against Brady.
Montana vs Brady argument is the exact reason why comparing best ever doesn't make sense. Montana would have won 6 or 7 Super Bowls too had the rules been the same as today. Montana in two NFC title games, 1986 and 1990 ended up getting destroyed on massive hits that would not have happened in today's game and the Niners ended up losing to the Giants and Giants ended up going on and winning the Super Bowl in both years. Montana was an athlete too. Brady has never really been a good athlete from a physical standpoint. If you switch Brady and Montana, Brady wins Super Bowls with Walsh, I don't know if he wins 4 but lets just say he does. And Montana with Belichick for sure wins at least 6 but likely more because Montana could move and those two losses to the Giants in 07 and 11 might have been wins due to the pass rush not being as effective with a mobile QB. Lotta details here it checks out when you compare them.
Rob doin work, this looks like a fun squad. Better on paper than what we had entering last season so far.
Definitely better. Much more potent offensively. That's what we struggled with last season, now it's addressed.
Rob with the sneaky acquisition of Wes and Trezz, at first glance, not only strengthened our team but weakened our main title rivals, the Bucks and especially the Clips
Last season, we had a maddening tendency to let opponents back in after big leads with James and Davis leading the way. When they sat or paced themselves, we could not sustain or get points as the offense became stagnant. The new acquisitions potentially looks good and we'll know soon enough...
Pelinka switched his twilighters to players hitting their prime. How does a championship team do that with all the restrictions? That's the amazing part. Lebron is gonna be able to play 29 min a game the entire season and then end your life come playoff time. Denver got worse, Clippers got worse. Houston is fodder. Only team that improved were the Pelicans and maybe Portland a little but not enough to be any threat. Heat got better and the rest of the East look the same execpt for the green turds. Looks like it might be a rematch next year for the title. Let's do it!!! Covid should be handled by Finals time, media and fans can enjoy a Finals in south beach and Santa Monica.
If he doesn't win the executive of the year award, then the NBA needs to just stop doing the awards. No MVP (LeBron), no DPOY (AD), no executive of the year (Pelinka). Clowns!
Yeah I’m not sure it’s debatable that the Lakers, Heat, and possibly Hawks have had the best offseason. But hey the Clippers signed Ibaka so I guess Frank will win it again.
Unbelievable. We aren't the only team that improved, of course, but upgrading a championship team isn't easy and this is significantly more versatile than the 2019-2020 team.
