    we may need the MLE to keep guys. just depends on a lot of other things.

    i don't disagree with houston's approach. their new gm has to live with these moves, and he might not work again if he doesn't play it right.

    that said, their hardline stance on westbrook (wanting something good in return) was pretty laughable, so it was wise to softly back off that. they have to think about whether they want kevin love or john wall or just take their lumps and reduce some salary burden (by moving him to ny, for example). you're not getting picks and prospects for westbrook at this point.

    and if all harden gets you is picks and prospects, you've done it wrong.

    i wish morey had to stay and clean up his mess. he gets to skate and be treated as a genius again. which, btw, he is--a genius at self-promotion. he's not a basketball or management genius, though.

    Lavine, he can probably get. Or maybe Gordon from ORL. No chance at Beal. He will cost more assets that Harden, I think. Factor in age and what Holiday went for. He'll cost them Simmons and the draft pick haul NO got.
