One thing I will say, I think this Bucks deal affords us the opportunity to be better this season. The Giannis pipe dream is now (by all accounts) gone. That gives us the ability to sign players to two year deals. We aren't handicapped with only being able to offer one year deals.

Wow. The Pelicans absolutely FLEECED the Bucks. They will be giving up picks for Holiday when he is 35 and 37 years old. It's likely they'll be paying for him when he's no longer in the league. That's a long way out. Heck, what if Jrue decides not to resign with the Bucks?

Yeah, it's an overpay for Jrue, and I like him.

So I think we get a deal done with Bradley or KCP now. We can offer two years at this point. I think KCP getting 2 years/$30 million is more than fair. We can also offer the Full MLE at two years now instead of one. Someone will want that.

i hoped we were always willing to offer more than one year, but you're probably right.

another way to present it is that the lakers got AD for ingram while the bucks got holiday for bledsoe, essentially. yipes.

Depends. Hawks lost out on one of their 3 perimeter targets with Bogdan going to MIL. It depends on Harris now (which depends on Harden, I imagine) , otherwise they could really price us out of the KCP race.

If Atlanta were to price us out of the KCP race and we offered 2 years for 30 million, so long KCP. He ain't worth more than that. Heck, KCP plays with two of the most dominant players on the planet. He's wide open 24/7. It's debatable as to whether or not he's an MLE player on an average team that doesn't have a superstar to draw defenses.

Couple thoughts on the aftermath from the Blazers- Rockets deal...

    - Blow that s*** up Houston! Cause the sooner they do, the sooner Rob can get his former client back

    - With Portland getting Covington, does that end Melo's run there? I know there were early talks of him going to NYK, IF they got CP3 but with him in Phoenix, what now? Don't think there's enough minutes here for him unless we do end up moving Kuz. But worth keeping an eye on.

I'd argue for chemistry sake as well he's worth keeping around.

oh and another way of putting it is that NO turned a playoff team with a superstar and an allstar into a lotto team with a semi-star and a lot of mid-first round picks that they'll have to unload a la boston.

I forgot Lebron has a $41 mil player option opt out summer 2021.

Wouldn't be surprised if AD does a 1 +1 when he re-signs, stagger his with Lebrons

I think OKC is in a better position. Houston and Clippers picks could be really good in 3-4 years. Houston is currently imploding and possibly starting a rebuild with no picks. If the Clippers Clip this season, Kawhi and George might leave after next season.

it's funny that houston sold off covington and appears to be blowing it up. word was ownership worried about doing that because fan support isn't great there as it is.

I also see selling off Covington as a sign they are blowing this up. They aren't winning with the combo they have, and that only suited Mike Dan Tony and his buddy GM. New regime, new vision, and better get some assets to work with.

Could have been AD / Jrue / Zion. But Griffin knows what he is doing. They will be solid 3 years from now.
