bkn doesn't have the means to get to a "massive haul", imo.

did the bulls make shaq harrison a UFA? worth a look, imo.

6'7" 190, athletic, shot 38% from three last year.

I think they could get there, but they'd be pushing all in on this.

I imagine they can get another 1st by moving Harris in a S&T. I know they want to keep him, but there's no shots left to take after those 3 get theirs.

The players mentioned in the earlier rumor isn't a bad haul player wise (you're not going to get player value for him anywhere) , it's a matter of how many draft picks they can scrounge up. Are those players + a 1st from a Harris trade + 3 1sts of their own + pick swaps enough?

They have him listed as 6'4", but he has a 6'10 wingspan.

    That would work.

$50m a year for his brand of basketball is sickening.

Why Shaq Harrison? Too risky of a roster spot for an unproven player who shot 38% from three but only taking 1 3PA per game. Too short of a sample and not worth the roster spot for a team trying to repeat.

Houston is doing what it can to create some value for Harden. Good luck with that. Going to be a nightmare season

There's no going back. Stick a fork in the Rockets

Houston is probably stuck with Harden and Westbrook since the trade offers are trash so far and those guys might have to sit until trade deadline.

No fans in attendance and this stalemate might drag out a while

you know me: i hate the picks as the reason a deal is good. it's the best prospect you get that matters. look at every trade for a superstar: most of the return is gone within a couple years, for nothing. most of the picks are low 1sts that don't yield. you need to get one allstar back, minimum. especially if the star isn't in his last year. harden's got two years left on his deal before he can opt out.

and the tweet above reinforces my point: you get to make decisions on allen and dinwiddie next year! they're not even cost-controlled assets.

i don't know. i agree with the ringer article today: i wouldn't pull the trigger unless somebody gives me something i can believe in. i said embiid before (and his injury history is obviously worrisome--but he's a legit allstar who could, in theory, anchor a playoff team).

i thought that number seemed off (bball ref had it). anyway, he's legit sg size.

How funny it is that the intention of the supermax NBA contract is to have teams actually keeps their stars, this guy could be on his 3rd team since doing so.

    I definitely get that.

Harden doesn't give a damn. He's telling them to take the deal, even if it isn't good.

Some stars, they say they want out and you can pacify them or the tantrum will pass. But Harden and Westbrook are such divas. Can be so toxic. Teammates already were sick of them and that was last season, I can't imagine the dynamic and locker room if they don't deal either. That's going to be rough.

I think Dinwiddle can be a fringe All Star, especially on a gutted team. HOU would keep him and you'd let Allen walk. Bigs aren't worth their tag on that next payday unless they're game changers.

To me those picks have some value there because they have a new GM and rookie coach. They can build their team and do cleanup on the Morey/ Harden era. That inherently gives you a little more leeway because the fan base isn't expecting much right out of the gates.

Then if you can get Bridges from the Hornets or one of the Knicks young guys when you dump Westbrook. You hopefully have a few pieces to run with as you restructure the roster from the ground up.

At that point it's a fire sale, you flip Covington and Tucker each for a pick. You're probably stuck with Eric Gordon as a holdover because his contract runs through 2024.

The pick game usually doesn't work. But when you have to move on from 4 such big figures as Harden, Westbrook, MDA, and Morey were and you're a new regime, it's not the worst idea.

Here we go. They had been to quiet for a team trying to convince Giannis to stay.

    Trade details...
