Bradley for Wes swap? If we keep KCP then AB isn't needed and I'd consider it because we need a cheap option to fill Green's role.
this is a good point, though. all these teams are going to empty their chamber to weaken us while there are plenty of other players out there. it's not like they're taking lebron, AD, or the eagle.
Happy I don’t hear THT in anything. I think he will be top 9 in our rotation this year. And...gulp...no Waiters talk as our 15th?
Bradley didnt even play when the Lakers won the title, what hurt them? We have AD and Lebron. No one can hurt the Lakers. NO ONE.
Depth matters for the regular season, and maybe especially the coming season. He’s a solid defender, so if you take him from us, and put him on the opposite squad, does it make a difference. I’m thinking yes, but only for a serious contender.
my dad swears up and down that avery bradley is incredibly valuable and that the lakers would have swept the playoffs if he played (my dad is NOT a lakers fan, btw). i don't agree. i agree with sirron that he'd help the platoon, but i'd have wanted caruso, kcp, and rondo playing the guard minutes over him, i think.
Too hard for me to play what if re: Bradley. He was one of my favorites on the team. I had no problem with him opting out of the bubble but I didn’t like him hopping on the Kyrie Irving boycott train and trying to talk Dwight out of playing. Ultimately we won the championship without his help in the playoffs and that tells me he’s expendable. Sorry AB. You could have opted in and stayed but we aren’t going to spend MLE money on you.
No idea why the Lakers give him a ring if Bradley thinks he's worth more... he certainly didn't prove it in the bubble. No ring for him. You can't have the ring and then $ as well when you didn't even show up to battle with the boys.
He gets a ring because the Lakers are a classy organization. He helped us win some big games in the regular season and often set the tone on defense, it’s not his fault it was too risky for him to play in the bubble in his opinion. Both sides know this is a business, he wants more years reportedly and it would be just as easy for us to use him for salary in a trade if he opts in. So if he opts out, no hard feelings, good luck to him, he gets a ring, Lakers are class, a player first organization unlike some joke teams out there.
Something I have been thinking for awhile is, most of the other players have family and children who are at risk for covid. They had to give up being there for them, just like AB would have. I get that he had a child with worse conditions but he could have joined the Lakers in the bubble and talked with his kids over zoom or something. Kids deal with it, my dad was in Vietnam for almost 2 years when I was a kid. Our family dealt with it. I am guessing that that the players who chose to deal with the hardships of being without their families might resent him just a little.
wait wait wait...wtf?! Bradley is opting out? Is he on crack? What a stupid a** move man...he sat out the entire bubble!!! I surely did not expect so many of our guys to opt out after winning a championship and especially not Bradley. Oh well...let's not overpay him either...now that he's opted out, I think we should seriously consider keeping Rondo then at $9M on a short deal...
screw it give ab n kcp their multi yr deal maybe partial guarantee in yr 3, so we can have insurance....
Strange mentality ... He owes us something by sitting the bubble imo . Always funny to me when you read players crying about getting traded , no loyalty , it's a business ect , guess what ? It works both ways, especially with an organization like the Lakers which is known for taking care of its players
