I like the thought of adding Ibaka as well.

If we can add Ibaka..oh boy that's a major get.

He actually fits perfectly next to LeBron and AD - and like otehrs have said, he's versatile enough to play 4/5.

I doubt we can get him but if we can - he's a major upgrade at the 5 spot.

Also I'm surprised that Tristan would want to "finish his career" in...Cleveland?

His daughter and Khloe are obviously here in LA...would make the most sense for him to come to the Lakers or Clippers I feel so he's with his family?

No. No. No. And HELL No. Keep those skanks away from this team. Every dip**** player they touch turns to s***. Thompson sucks, Clarkson sucked after, Kyle Kuzma seems to never stay consistent since, Harden is a year end flop. I don't even know what happened to that poor bastard who married Kim. All end in terrible shape or jinxed.

No thank you. Serge Ibaka? Now that would be the perfect replacement for Morris. He can defend and can shoot lights out from 3 and has championship pedigree.

Lakers best unit/main advantage over opponents is Bron and AD playing the 4 and 5 in the playoffs

Ibaka for the vet min ? Sure , using a good portion of the MLE ? wouldn't make sense

Gotta get there first. We're dealing with a quick turnaround and a compressed season. If Dwight walks, we could give either Dwight and Morris' minutes.

Not saying I'd throw big money at either. We have more pressing needs with shooters and a regular season PG. But we seem to have ample options with bigs this off season. But I'd consider more than the min, depending on how the rest of the roster shakes out.

Losing 'Do to the Clippers AND getting CP3
    [IMG]
He said he's 85% sure about CP3. The fact that he knows so many players, that's terrifying to me.

Can't believe he's only 31. Seems like he has been around forever.

Speculation we could be one of those teams since we showed interest at the trade deadline

Here is the deal with Chris Paul. Something can be done to get him, even with that hefty price tag. Now, if they get him and he doesn't get injured when it matters, likely the Lakers take it again. If he gets injured and can't finish the season, Lakers may still win it, but it would be difficult. And if they don't, it blows up in their face. Lakers are a laughing stock and getting the Clippers treatment about being chokers, blah blah blah. We will have to hear for the billionth time how Lebron isn't Jordan and Lebron will then get into his feelings again and start posting cryptic things about himself and life and all that garbage.

That's it in a nut shell.

Cp3 is not happening - it's just impossible with all the salary matching that would have to be done.

I wouldnt say no to Cp3 if he was at say 21-25m - but at 40M? It's just not even possible.

I hope that he gets dumped to a s***ty team and then gets bought out. That's our best case scenario

IF we get stuck with CP3 and his albatross contract then Bron, CP3, Klutch, and AD need to call in every favor to every friend they have in the league to come here for pennies. And if I'm Rob, I want those pre-negotiated before gutting the roster.

We already know Melo will be here if that happens. There's already talks of he and CP3 possibly teaming up on the Knicks. But that's not enough.

Ugh - I would seriously HATE if we traded for Cp3 especially when we don't need to!!

Doesn't help that 'Do and KCP both opted out - so we can't use their contracts to make a deal happen.

    That leaves us with...

    Green
    Kuz
    McGee
    Bradley
    Cook
    THT

    they total = $32.66M

    CP3's contract is $41.4M

That's SIX players for ONE - and I don't even know if that is enough to match the salaries? We may have to throw in Caruso too, which for me, is a deal breaker.

SEVEN players for ONE dude that had a healthy season last year but prior to that was injured almost every single year...yeah no thanks.

I guess if we had guys lined up to take minimum contracts and a guy like Gallinari ready to take MLE...we could make it work.

If we can re-sign KCP and Rondo as well over the cap, that would obviously make this better.

But man, only way I maybe do this is if CP3 agrees ahead of time to opt out of that $44M next summer and re-sign for 3 yr 30M or something close to it.

I just think going after Cp3 is a huge mistake because it requires literally gutting our roster and having to part with one or BOTH of THT/Caruso just to make the contracts work. No thanks

I wouldn’t trade for CP3 either. Don’t like his contract and I don’t trust his injury history especially with a shortened offseason.

There are moves that can be made that improve the team while keeping the core of the team intact.
