Sounds like a stat designed to pump up a specific player, or the player is super impressive.

Win shares is basically a player's contribution to the team winning. The fact LeBron has such a huge disparity with the rest of the league is evidence that he basically carried more of a load and thus, his higher representation to his team winning means his win shares contribution is high. I feel like that is something haters don't understand. LeBron, had he played in the West, would have made fewer Finals appearances but he would have had a better Finals record. He was penalized for carrying teams to the Finals only to lose against superior Western Finals opponent(s) but get blamed for it because the only thing the media cares about is whether he wins or loses the Finals. Acceptable, but outside of his Mavs 2011 Finals, I don't think LeBron has ever disappointed in a playoffs series since. 2007 Finals, he shouldn't have even gotten to the Finals past the Detroit Pistons. He played horrible in the Finals but was age 22. How many age 22 players are leading their franchise to the Finals while having a bum roster?

Some of those teams (or rather, players) had no business even being in the playoffs, let alone reaching the finals.

The desire and the level of attention and intensity on the defensive end was what impressed me the most with Bron this past year. Don't think that happens without AD setting the tone and the bar from day one.

Yah ... did not at all expect the level of defense and effort at it he gave us all season. Those chase down in the air from behind at the rim blocks at his age included.

LeBron as a defensive player for the regular season is average. For the playoffs, if he has to, he is still one of the best defenders in the league. If we can get Oladipo, who at his prime was an All-NBA 1st team defender just two seasons ago, we're going to be even better defensively next season.

Not surprising coming from Danny Green. He didn't show up for most of this last season as it was. Somehow, I would expect LeBron to show up. He always does.

What do you mean you wouldn't expect him the first month? He's a professional basketball player getting paid to play NBA basketball.

Why does everyone act like they played all year? They had 4 months off between the break.

I'm sure they will get ready. OK, maybe they won't go balls out early on, but they should be there.

well, we didn't see actual lebron for large chunks of the season, and we didn't see danny green for a single game last year.

    so, business as usual.

I'm not sure if Danny Green has even spoke to Bron. At the end of the day, Bron is a businessman. If the league says we're going to pay you less because you want to play fewer games, then these guys will suit up. I never understood the dilemma with the 'played an entire full season.' These guys had nearly 4 months of rest before going back to the bubble. They were compensated big bucks to play. Let's stop treating them like poor individuals who are doing free labor. These NBA dudes are smart enough to realize that games = money, no games = no money. Let the owners call their bluff... Don't play = no pay.

This is going to be interesting as I have no doubt an early start is going to bad for the final 4 teams (LAL, Miami, Boston, Denver). Particularly the two Finals teams are older and every player has said for the example the Olympics really does a number on their bodies going into the next season

So you're going to have a situation where for most teams it's not a big deal and would likely support an early start but those you did well are going to be impacted pretty badly by this. Like if your Giannis, I think you say start now lol

But that's every season. It's not even about the rest, is it? I think it's got more to do with they want to hang out with their families and handle their personal/business life and not be subjected so soon to playing basketball again. Like, realistically, how much rest do athletes need? With all the time off, how many end up getting fat and lose their physique only to have to lose it when the season starts again? I think it's an advantage for the Lakers. They're in shape and can start off the season with how they finished without missing a beat.
