i feel for butler because he played out of his mind and carried the team on his back to two wins. really became a fan of his during this series

guys like bam, nunn, herro, and robinson are all young so they'll likely be back. crowder and olynyk can go f*ck themselves

This doesn't seem real. We actually, won, wow.

Honestly I thought we were a long shot to win a championship when the bubble started because we looked so bad during those early bubble games. I didn't think we would get past Portland.

Now we're champions. I didn't see this coming at all but I cried tears of joy. The city needs this, especially since this year has been such an awful year on all counts. This team has been such a joy to watch. I couldn't be more proud as a fan.

    2020 World Champs!

I'm in a different place in life now than 2010, and even 2002, so it's hard to compare the emotions and the significance of each run. I was too young for the 80s runs. But man, this one is massive. LA has been through it this year, and it's surreal that these guys pulled it off with everything that has been going on.

But also, Jimmy Butler. So much respect for how he carried that team. I listened to him speak a little after it was all over and he was downplaying his performance because they didn't win. I get it. But damn, he was incredible.

Makes sense. LeBron+Lakers fans = largest NBA fanbase in the history of basketball.

Wonder if they're allowed to buy merch in China after last year and wear it, or is that cause for incarceration now?

This is a nice negotiating chip to sweeten the FA pitch pot.

I wonder how much the jerseys of Lebron & AD account for the merchandise sales.

Lebron's number switch from #23 to #6, and AD #3 to #23 is still on, right?

Forgot to go back and check on running commentary from Zen. Must have been enjoying the game (silence) up until the time he saw our "first mistake" :giggle:

Hey has anyone heard from Bill Simmons after we won the chip? Curious to hear what has to be his pathetic spin on it. Or has he just clammed up in hiding / mourning?

That’s a good question. I hadn’t heard anything about the number change since they tried it last off-season. I do believe at the time they said they would move forward with the change after the season, but I’m not sure if that’s still in the cards.

I already have a Lebron #23 and AD # 3 jersey, but I’m definitely down to get two more after a numbers switch.

In fact, my AD jersey is now outdated. It’s the “authentic” type, which also includes a small badge on the back collar with the Larry O’Brien trophy and “16”. I need one now with “17”!

I was kinda hoping they'd drop the number switch now that they won a championship with these jerseys.

a day later and it still hasn't hit me yet

i know we're spoiled as a franchise and 10 years without a title seems like an eternity when there's franchises like denver and utah who have been around decades and never won. but the lakers had never been through a period like they did from 2013-2019. constantly in the basement with nothing to look forward to aside from the draft and landing a big name FA (always got turned down until lebron)

watching kobe on his last legs out there with guys like wesley johnson, ronnie price, wayne ellington, tarik black, robert sacre, ryan kelly, kendall marshall, xavier henry was just sad to watch and such a bad ending to a legendary career. wish he could've been around to see this
