I like our Lakers crews better than these big network guys. They get into some stupid story or some stupid point they’re making and will keep talking it over some great play on the floor and not even mention the play .... multiple times. Like they’re the attraction and they can be lax calling the damn game.
What a clinic Gotta go browse some basketball forums, i bet there were celebrating at the start of the game Also, the court is FUGLY. Whoever designed it should be fired on the spot.
it's one thing to say it's different, but when you start saying it's favoring a certain team or player when it's a factor that should influence things evenly (like altered depth perception), you're grasping at straws. honestly, i've been on team asterisk since the beginning. because i knew that the bubble was an ideal situation for a rando team like the heat to make the finals (go back and check what i said, for real). i also thought it favored teams that generally played shorter rotations and/or played gimmicky ball. what happened? the two EC finalists played no centers (adebayo isn't a center) like the rockets. hell, if the rockets didn't play us in round 2, they'd have made the conference finals, too. that said, winning is still an accomplishment, and nobody will talk much about it in the future other than it was a title for the franchise. as for all the injury excuse talk: meh. they were getting blasted when they started dropping. absolutely no one would give us an inch if somebody goes down. you play 7 guys balls to the wall for 6 weeks and stuff happens. anyway, let's hope we can stay healthy and focused. watch a lot of nunn film and get prepared to see leonard and olynyk more. they played a good chunk of the season with those guys in the rotation, no excuse to be shocked by what spoelstra throws out there in the next game.
LeBron and AD are officially the best playoff duo ever. That's really cool. This was a perfect pairing of players, really. Not like Kawhi and PG who play the same position.
If Lebron had AD for 10 years, I'm not exaggerating that Lebron might have won 8 titles. Those two mesh as well as I've ever see two stars mesh. Their games compliment each others as well as any two stars I've seen. Two titles with these guys together would be enough for me.
Watched Heat games this season, but didn’t really grasp how dependent they are on Adebayo in the post. He’ll have to play 40+ minutes vs us for them to have a chance.
In watching the ECF, I wasn't impressed. The Lakers and Nuggets are the only teams in the NBA that play the in and out game. All Miami does is the same thing the Crockets do and most of these overrated teams do and that's shoot 3's. Nothing special.
Highlight to piggyback on how great this duo is. They like one another, immediately clicked on the court, and always talk on the bench It's great to see. Not always the case with some great duos, like Kobe and Shaq. You don't have to be BFFs to win, but it definitely helps chemistry when it starts at the top.
Lakers won't have a Kobe and Shaq problem with AD and LeBron. AD truly respects and looks up to Bron while Bron wants what is best for AD. My only sorrow with this is that if LeBron was just a bit younger, say age 30, we would be such an unstoppable team for the foreseeable future.
It makes me wonder if there was something else going on with Nunn that kept him out of the lineup??? I know he was battling through some type of injury but the coach really put him on a short leash it seems.
I might be more sympathetic to the “but, but... injuries” talk if LeBron wasn’t 35, in his 17th season, with more total miles than just about any player ever (save Kareem). If you’re not durable enough to hang with this version of LeBron, that’s on you. It’s part of the game.
Let's face it, just being the Lakers winning it will make some people put an asterisk next to it. F'em. F Pippen, F Max Kellerman, they can all eat my poop!
In the finals 9 out of the last 10 years and performing like this!?!?!? Lebron is a freak of nature. I know of no other player, whom I have seen play regularly during their career be able to perform like this. Bill Russell maybe but his heyday was before I was watching close and I don't know what injuries he dealt with. But the league takes more of a toll on your body nowadays, it is played at a faster pace and the playoffs are longer. Playing 3 finals in a row makes it really hard to win all the time.
Another way to look at it is that in the bubble everyone should be on their A-Game, if there is NO travel to take it's toll and no home crowd to give an unfair advantage, then everything is equal all the time, it actually led to the Lakers LOSING their home court advantage, that helps the underdogs. I would argue that the bubble was worst for the front runners making winning the whole thing even more difficult, especially for a team like the Lakers. See the Bucks and Clippers.
Yep, I was thinking the same thing, how many times they won't comment on the play or clearly see it wrong and make stupid comments, only to have it zoomed in on later and show that their comments were wrong. No comment usually.
Yeah, I noticed Pippen never mentioned our loss of Home Court advantage, something he and MJ usually enjoyed.
F@#K Pippen & anyone that tries to diminish the Lakers accomplishments. Of course 2020 is different, but I can easily make an argument that it's been way more challenging than most normal Seasons. Completely new Roster & Coaching Staff, Dealt with death of Kobe Bryant, Lakers lose HCA that they fought all Year for, our best perimeter Defender opts out of the Bubble, they get the most difficult bracket in the Playoffs (name one that was harder), we were also playing most of our games late night EST due to the time zones & TV schedule, & finally, the ECF got a 3 Day rest right in the middle of their Series for no reason except to synch schedules while we played every other Day. These aren't excuses, these are facts. Any hater trying to say the Lakers had it easy, I just ask 'em "who did your Team lose to..".??
