Killer is winning. Lebron wins 5 more games, he did his job in LA. Wouldn't have to win another one either.

Kobe was the total package. He won with all the effects.

I agree. Which is why I wanted LeBron here years ago when 95% of the forum bashed him to death. Just saying, he goes about it differently.

Laker fans aren't Lebron people. We are Kobe people. However, most of us are Lakers fans first and foremost. Winning title 17 and 18 is what comes first.

I love me some Kobe Bean Bryant, and I am reluctant to ever want to criticise my hero, especially when he has left basketball, and more importantly, has left this world with his beautiful daughter. But I think we've forgotten the entire Kobe experience, and are unwilling to remember it now.

Sure Kobe was clutch, but he could have non clutch moments. Sure he could finish a game excellently, but he could also be very patchy in the earlier parts of the game. I think Kobe being such a professional, such a champion, and because he left everything on the court means any of those other aspects are forgotten or irrelevant.
I find Bron is the opposite... does all the damage earlier in a game, and doesn't finish it as well. Hence we question his will to win or his clutch gene or whatever. Maybe his team first attitude works against him. Maybe he wanted to be the next Jordan, but realised he was more a Jordan lite and Magic lite.

*allow me to now throw up after having to write that when I love and miss Kobe so much

    What is this blasphemy?

    :Vogelheaving:

nah, Laker fans get it. The great ones who put themselves out there, Unafraid of failing, get an extra dose of fan respect.

most Laker fans thought Jamal Murray was a douche since his rookie year, but he has earned their respect with his play in clutch game end sequences.

Lebron has those moments, but at his core he’s more Magic than Michael. It’s a different kind of greatness, but to expect to be able to throw the ball to Bron at the end of a big game down 1 and feel like the game is over.... you’re just lying to yourself. Him being a Laker didn’t change his abilities.

but I can say I’ve observed this: He’s less reluctant to take on those big moments than at other times in his career. His balls no longer shrink under the pressure, and he can live or die with the results. But without much of a midrange game, he’s predictable, limited, and great defensive schemes can stifle him at the ends of games.

if those facts bother my fellow fans, then we’re just seeing two different things.

I actually don't mind Bron taking a game winning shot these days. I actually prefer it to him going to the line where I do not trust his free throws.

Running the clock down at the top of the key in the clutch with no play being run will cost us one day.

It is a miracle it hasn't all seasong long but Bron is playing with fire .

The halfcourt offense is bad , only hidden by A.D's heroics from midrange .

What happened if/when he's coming back to earth though ?

Lebron has to go against his preferences and adapt his game to his advanced mileage .

Go to the mid post/ post and play bully ball instead of operating from the top of the key like a regular 6'3 point guard

Paul Pierce is a such a whiny b****. I knew he was, and I knew he hated LeBron, but I never heard the spit story

Cost us what? Lakers won 70% of their regular season games and are one win away from smacking the western conference 12-3 with no home court advantage that they earned before the pandemic hit.

I am not understanding this constant panic and negativity with this team. I understand that there are lingering scars from the Julius Randle and Ryan Kelly Era but Jesus people, let it go. Those days are over. Enjoy the ride....

Amen. But this is also competitive basketball. Even in spite of having Bron and AD, this season still has the excitement and nerves about it because we don't know for sure.... until we actually lift the Larry O'Brien. This is a different year to the Warriors or Miami having teams just expected to win (though the Flippers were expected to win lol).

The last 4-5 minutes he played with the killer instinct that we Laker fans are used to seeing from our greats. And he gave it today

People were discussing the best player in the league all year long. Kawhi... Giannis... sorry, but not yet. Bron shows them all why. Actually, I am not sorry at all. What a performance! Dominant.

Kawhi-Me-A-River really chose Paulina Georgina over this? Kawhi couldn't do what LeBron did in those three games being up 3-1? LeBron James put the stamp on this game. Near 40 point/20 rebound/10 assist game when the team needed it the most. Unstoppable. Respect to the Nuggets... Much tougher series than many expected. Jokic and Murray will be a dangerous duo for many years to come. But the best player, LeBron James, is on a mission.

That close was a thing of beauty, that was like watching Kobe again, just incredible. Dude came here to bring us back and he did it in year 2, absolutely amazing. That’s 9 Finals in 10 years for him, after 8 straight he’s back again, dude just wins.

With how he was getting into the post and to the rim in the first half, it was very clear this was ending tonight. He wants wine and rest.

I can't believe it. Not that we're in the NBA Finals as a franchise once again but the fact that two years ago, the Lakers were the laughing stock signing Luol Deng and Timofey Mosgov. Now, LeBron leads the team to the NBA Finals. This dude, as you have stated, is a WINNER.

I think if Kobe was looking down on LBJ today he would have been smiling. Either that or frowning and saying "why couldn't you always have done that' All credit to LBJ hitting some amazing shots (he wasn't making the last few games at all), only passing via highlight play, and dominating the game with his drives to the basket. Both teams played hard, but the Lakers and particularly Lebron paid harder. Come on Sirron give him some love, lol.
