The truth is Kawhi is overrated. He won rings in San Antonio and then in Toronto. Those were both super solid and good teams even after he left. He was the slight extra, the whipped cream on top of the dessert. But now, he is in LA and trying to carry a team with Paul George. Without PG and Kawhi, this team would tank, they would be horrible. And something else, Paul George is a regular season player. We are so lucky we dodged him. He has choked in every season he has made the playoffs.

Kawhi is a very good piece on a championship team, but he ain't no Lebron. I seen Lebron and Kawhi ain't no Lebron!! He ain't no Kobe and he ain't no Jordan. That talk needs to stop. Nobody wanted Kawhi to be that guy more than me, I went to San Diego State and was very proud of him while he played here. I soooooo wanted him to come to the Lakers and win rings. But no, and now he is going to end out being the poster boy for players who did not reach their expectations and counted their chickens before they hatched. He played the league and tried to force himself into a market on his terms. Problem for him is, he is no basketball savant like Jerry West. He wanted Paul George or he was going to go somewhere else. Well dang, what has George ever done in the playoffs?? Nothing!!! He would be a decent third option on a team like ours but even then there would be times of disappointment. Those two had visions of grandeur. Kawhi made a stupid decision and he will live to regret it.

This. Plus he was one lucky bounce away from not even making it to the Finals.

Kawhi's a great player, certainly. But he seems like he's damaged goods. He had no legs in his shots last night at all. It was all coming up short. He probably knew this was going to be a long term, lingering thing and he had the most leverage to get his load management dictating his limits to the Clippers who were desperate to get him. Also of course he wanted to come back to So Cal. But man, he could have coasted for some years as the third guy here on the Lakers. Talk about load management - he'd be playing with AD and Lebron!

Playoff P is what he is - an underachiever when it counts. I don't see how Kawhi or the Clips ever thought he was going to be something different. That was a big fail on their part as well as his own most obviously. In the regular season he might be a top 20 NBA player but in the post season, more like a top 40? He's astonishingly bad.

The basketball gods have spoken. I think it kills any possible team chemistry that these guys were yapping about not having when your two stars decide to rest half of the year while the others have to work twice as hard. That can't have been good for morale. And then when it comes to crunch time both of those superstars fail completely. Not one basket between the two of them for the entire fourth quarter of a game 7? That's all time terrible.

Now they're stuck with that team with no control of first round picks for 7 years.

Anyway, yesterday was just a fantastic day for basketball. That first game of the Eastern Conference delivered in a huge manner with an OT thriller and a C Bags defeat. I didn't think things could get any better. Then the Nuggets kicked the $#%& out of the Slippers and Dame and McCullum added salt to the wound on Twitter. Just perfection.

    Let's talk about Doc Rivers

    The Narrative:
Doc has the most experience of any coach in the NBA.
Doc gets his teams to buy into the system.
Doc gets them to sacrifice for the good of the team.
Docs teams can play from behind.
Doc is highly respected for both talent and leadership.
Doc doesn't over manage player personalities.
Doc looks at the season in it's entirety and focuses his resources appropriately.

    The Facts:
Blown Series where his team was up 3-1 or 3-2:
    2020 Round 2 vs Nuggets, 3-1 lead
    2015 Round 2 vs Rockets, 3-1 lead
2012 East Finals vs Heat, 3-2 lead
2010 NBA Finals vs Lakers, 3-2 lead
    2009 Round 2 vs Magic, 3-2 lead
    2003 Round 1 vs Pistons, 3-1 lead

Other Series where they were ahead and lost:
2017: 2-1 lead against the Utah Jazz
2016: 2-0 lead against the Trail Blazers
2014: 1-0 lead against the Thunder
2013: 2-0 lead against the Grizzlies

Now go back to some of these teams and look at what their fans where saying about him at the time. They all hated him.

But then, he got Garnett and was able to pair him with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce with a ton of great pieces around them like Perkins, Davis, Tony Allen, House, etc. These were all guys who contributed and stars that were in their prime. How many rings did this juggernaut team get? 1, FRIGGING ONE!!! This was a superstar team with 3 guys in their prime.

So, where did Doc Rivers become the most respected coach in the NBA, hell, where did he become a top 10 coach??

The one thing he has in common with Paul George is that he is a very good regular season coach that knows how to stay out of his players way. Does he know how to make them better? Does he do ANYTHING to make his team perform better, IN THE PLAYOFFS? Has he EVER gotten one single ounce extra out of his teams during the playoffs??

If he was the coach of the Lakers, I would want him fired. Plain and simple, this guy is NOT a championship coach. He is a guy that can take you to the doorstep but you are going to need someone better to help the team get over this hump.

The records shown above are absolutely astounding. When you don't pay as much attention, these are facts that could easily be ignored. Hell, Doc is a championship coach, he must be great!! Right???

    WRONG!!

I would tell Balmer to fire this idiot but I actually think he should keep him, but I also think he should move his team to Seattle and change his name to the Antifas. So what the heck. Glad he is a Clipper coach and NOT a Lakers coach!

yea, at times, it looked like he was moving in slow motion... not jokic slow (calculated and deceptive), but calcified/tired slow... look, let's face it, he is a great player, and make no mistake, they will be back next year, potentially with the same crew, hellbent on saving face... but what took place over the last 3 games was nothing short of a disastrous choke/embarrassment, and this is almost more enjoyable than beating them in the WCF.
