Rumor has House was suspended for Game 3 for bringing a girl who wasn't his wife/GF in the bubble haha. Guess it's fake though
He could have always knocked on Lou Williams door to borrow a cup of sugar. I wonder if any players are complaining about Lou William's "extended family" ?
part of that is harden sits a good chunk of the 4th most games, right? feel like he plays the whole third a lot. then again, i try not to watch them anymore. the stat that stood out to me last game was that houston only attempted 30 3s. that's defense because i promise you dantoni didn't come in telling them to limit those attempts. they shot 40%, which is good, but only made 12. previous game they shot 40% but made 22. changes the complexion of the game. keep them off those threes.
The double teams and rotations to cover them are awesome. Vogel must be as good at least as Thibs was and the opposite of his personality. Not a screaming football coach type A-hole.
They said on The Locked on Lakers podcast that Sunday was the first time this season Houston shot %40 from 3 and lost. They were something like 16-0, I forget the exact number. Now we’ve beaten them twice in a row with them shooting %40 from 3. I hope it’s a little deflating for them, but I doubt it, I expect this series to go 6 at least.
It wold be great to go up 3-1 because they are not coming back from that - although they could muster one more win and push us to 6. But they can't win 3 in a row. No way. So, we need to play really good defense on the 3pt line once again. That seems to be working.
I'm reminded of a Man Show episode, where they set up men in a store with a sexy womanMan will do anything for p**** including shoplifting and apparently in House's case destroying his career over it
That was apparently Westbricks best shooting game from the floor since 2016 Playoffs... Rockets played good enough to beat most teams but most teams don't have LeBron, AD, and playoffs Rondo to circumvent that. Harden is a fantastic player but I didn't even remember him doing anything in the 4th. Westbrick begins to fall in love with shooting midrange shots because he's tunnel-visioned as hell. Lakers were up by like 12 and he shoots a tough fadeaway over AD and then started barking at him. Game 4 will be huge for the Lakers and Rockets. I hope the Lakers come out ready to stomp on the Rockets. It's unfortunate that the Lakers have had the toughest road to the Finals since like.. forever. Portland, Rockets, and Clippers... three teams with two elite all-star players. Meanwhile the Clippers play against a young Denver team and a Porzingis-less/hobbled Luka.
I agree, plus looks like the Clippers are going to beat the Nuggets and I want to minimize the amount of rest they (the Clippers) potentially could have. Game 4 is pivotal.
Bright side is the Lakers are going to be well prepared: Houston has a nice combo of individual and help defenders. D'Antoni has also impressed with multiple different types of double teams. Kawhii is on another level of course but as a team I don't think the Clippers are much better. Particularly they got no one like PJ Tucker to throw at AD. They'll be able to double but individually I'd rather go against Harrell/Zubac/Morris then Austin. AD's really struggled with hard and late double thru the course of the year and getting these reps is invaluable Plus Lou Williams ain't got nothing on Dame and CJ. Kuzma's growth, Morris, and Lebron plus the ability to play Howard will be nice as well. In summary, the Clips are better team but not as bad a matchup for the Lakers
If there isn't a major injury, no one is beating the Lakers this year. I do not care who they play. I want Boston in the Finals. If the Lakers end up beating Portland, Houston, LAC and Boston to win the title, it will be as good as a title win as I can remember. Winning with no homecourt, winning in these conditions, winning after a 4 month break, beating essentially the best seeds in each round and beating Boston again in the Finals to tie those aholes in titles? Yah. That puts a giant stamp on all of it.
We were once up 3-1 against the Suns and i was 1000% sure we "had it". This series is far from over, Bron better keep them focused.
That team had Kwame Brown and Smush Parker starting with Luke Walton playing regular minutes. The fact that they got to 3-1 was a miracle in itself. And the sole reason we lost that series was because a dip**** like Kwame Brown didn't feel it was important to put the effort to get the rebound in Game 6 to end the series before that f*** face Tim Thomas hit a miracle shot. Lakers are NOT going to lose to the Rockets. PUT IT IN WRITING, unless a major injury happens. And they aren't losing to the Clippers or whomever comes out the east if the Lakers are 100%. Not happening.
well, and the lakers are only up 2-1 right now. houston wins tonight, and it's a brand new series. i don't share ox's confidence--though i enjoy it--and i agree with pioneer that houston is actually a worse matchup for us. the clippers are definitely a better basketball team than houston, but their style goes against how we're most comfortable playing. the clippers' doesn't. we want to play that way, too. doesn't mean we'll beat them. but again, we're not guaranteed to get there. i haven't seen anything in this series to make me think we're going to walk over them like we did portland.
