i'd much rather OKC. no way paul makes it full strength through two playoff series (honestly, he's clearly at 60% now, imo). plus, i love teams that want to match size with us. bring it.

harden's bs calls and the gimmick three ball system, combined with the underdog card that they'll still be playing...do not want. dantoni (and harden) teams crumble when anyone expects them to win. nobody will expect them to win against the lakers, and that worries me.

but it's heading that way, so, here we go...

do we write dantoni's epitaph or do we pave his way to glory. if they beat us, they'll beat everyone else, imo.

I agree with all this, but I don't think they'll beat the Clippers. Kawhi is an amazing defender that hardly ever fouls. He'll be able to help lockdown Harden. Lockdown Harden to 20-25 ppg, Houston becomes an 8th seed.

Technically I know the mods said we have until tomorrow when the Lakers play Portland to discuss politics in this thread, but I don't really want to talk about this anymore and would rather just talk about basketball and the Lakers. Nothing against you or anyone else. The conversations in here about political subjects the last few days have been pleasantly cordial and I would like to keep it that way with my fellow Laker fans.

The last thing I'm going to say is if I'm the police in this situation and I see someone moving towards me with a gun (even with the gun slung behind), I'm going to stop him and ask him a few questions.

If you want to have the last word go for it.

For some reason I'm not afraid of the Bucks at all. I view Boston and Toronto as much tougher opponents in the East and I think one of those teams beat the Bucks.

Not a fan of the Rockets matchup for the following reasons :

    - It will take a couple of games for Vogel to both understand Javale can't start against this team and he and Dwight shouldn't play at all

    - We're going to "force feed " A.D in the post which is going to be a mistake instead of running countless Bron/AD PNR with AD rolling to the basket ( no size when it comes to the weakside rotation for Houston)
AD is going to get hacked with no calls by smaller players and we all know how he responds to physicality , not very well ...

    - AD is more mobile than Gobert , but I'm not a huge fan of him having to defend the 3pt line off ball all the time .

    - Our best lineup against the Rockets would be to play Bron at the 5 with no AD but it's not going to happen .

I wouldn't be surprised if we went down 0-2 in this series ( we would still advance though)

He never will be healthy. His body isn't made for healthy NBA career.

Systemic racism exists. Crack some books, not some jokes or cheap shots at LeBron. MJ?? “Republicans buy shoes too.” Of course that is the example offered. The ignorance and privilege revealed in some of these posts. Just wow.

hasn't houston given the clips problems all year? feel like they have.

it's going to drive me insane watching tucker mug AD every trip down without a whistle while nobody can breathe on harden. and make no mistake: pj's game is fouling and getting away with it because he's short.

they should have moved him before he got hurt, given that they were already worried about it. but their problem is the same as dallas's: nobody will sign there as a FA, and when he's healthy, he's an allstar who can really change games.

but dallas managed his minutes and didn't force him to to do too much banging, and this still happened. highly unlikely that he plays full healthy seasons.

    i'd rather OKC

houston's just gonna sink 3 after 3 every game while harden gets to shoot 30 FTs each game

Everyone was saying that after Game 1 with Portland. Lakers adjusted and proceeded to whip the crap out of Portland on defense for the next 3 games.

Great job keeping this thread civil and respectfully expressing your views on the protests, riots and shootings.

Today NBA games resume, so this thread should be back to exclusively NBA basketball discussions. If you would like to continue talking about the protests, riots, or shootings, please move the discussion to the Politics Forum.

You know we're going to play Houston. They look good so far against the Thunder.

then make the argument, don't throw everyone in the ignorance mode because you don't like what they say. People are actually trying pretty hard here to communicate. If they are wrong, convince them of it.

Clear the ones saying such repugnant things won’t do the recommended reading and have no wishes to be allies. Want them to know where I stand and will say what others here want to when seeing such “earth is flat” instigations. And when dudes talk about “he plays the race card” they are revealing their ... Didn’t OKC just wax us by 20 a couple weeks ago? Are we sure they are preferred?
