complaining about both the refs and his injury...making me look bad for thinking he was the closest to mamba mentality we had in the league right now.

in fairness, they basically have to hope the lakers have three more horrific shooting nights, and they know it.

"Obviously, I dislocated it, so it's going to have some effect on ballhandling," Lillard said of his finger. "Tonight, the biggest thing I felt was just going up to shoot, when I was gathering the ball, I was uncomfortable. Sometimes I would subconsciously try to ease up on it, so I would lose the ball a little bit. When I was making moves, in the middle of my dribble, I would ease up on it because I would feel the pain, and I would lose the ball a little bit. It kind of stopped me in my tracks. I did as much treatment as I could, and I tried to just ignore it. But once you decide to step out there, it is what it is."

Yeah. It used to annoy the hell out us too of when Kobe would make excuses for all the tape and splints even on his shooting hand and go out there and adjust and some nights just keep dropping them.

I thought about 24's splint when the subject of Lillard's dislocated finger came up.

Here are my thoughts on the series so far (and yes, this is my first post in a LONG time as I've stayed away from NBA stuff pretty much since Kobe passed away):

Play waiters more than JR esp when LeBron sits
Keep playing caruso even if Rondo returns
Start Kuzma or Dwight in place of McGee
Play Morris more / McGee less and no JR unless its garbage time
Stop with the weird rotations Vogel

They're doing a good job on DAME for the most part. The guy that we're not doing well on is surprisingly Carmelo who's looking like 2009 Melo out there at times. Dame and CJ have been making tough shots all series...luckily for us, they can't keep that up and we won't keep missing OPEN shots (SO IRRITATING).

AD has been great in this series - yes he had some slow starts but he dominates the game when he's on.
LeBron finally had a signature game - was waiting for him to put his imprints on a series. I think he dominates moving forward.

I am expecting 4-1 Lakers but wouldn't surprise me if this blazers team stretched it to 6 or 7 games. They are a much better team than their record shows - and they probably woulda been even better if Ariza/Hood were out there too (of course we could be better too with AB).

P.S. super weak of Dame to complain about calls - he gets a fair amount of them himself so idk why he's resorting to that same ole BS about how "Lakers get all the calls" crap.

Let’s just hope this is us spotting Houston a game just to see what their game plan is and making the proper adjustments going forward. Houston’s been playing every other day for a bit now so at some point they gotta wear down. I think...

Realistically, we could complain about everything:

    -Coaching
    -Rondo
    -Star play
    -Rondo
-Role players like Kuz+Green in general
    -Rebounding
    -Rondo

This game was so bad, I’m not sure I would have done doom if we won at the end. Guys played with no energy or hustle. It was a disgusting game.

This sums it up for me. I listened to the locked on Lakers podcast 2 days ago where Pete and Anthony said the Rockets wanted to play offense and defense exactly like they did tonight, and we let them. Pathetic effort, I can only hope it was a game 1 thing again.

They had a whole week off and there's literally nothing else to do other than practice over there in the Bubble, what have these guys been doing? These are grown men and professionals, the least they can do is effort and they just looked disinterested the whole game. Players and Lebron/AD especially as the leaders need to take responsibility

Too many instances they broke us down individually off the dribble. Our traps and blitzes were somewhat effective until they jumped out on that 10-0 run. Offensively, we settled...the ball movement was a second or two slow.

I really don't expect Houston to be that efficient. On to Game 2...

You know the other guys haven't really been reliable and convincing so Vogel keeps going to Rondo in desperation. Guys like Caruso, KCP, Kuzma, Green need to stand out or Rondo is going to keep eating their minutes. They need to give Vogel a reason to keep Rondo on the bench and so far they haven't. That's pathetic

in fairness, houston plays so weirdly that it takes a couple games to adjust. the key is not getting down in those games. and we did already. you know they're going to win at least one game by shooting a ridiculous percentage on a high volume of threes. now you've lost a game wherein they didn't do that. not. good. if they just shot the lights out, i wouldn't be as worried.

good chance, yes. and i didn't say this after we dropped game 1 to portland, btw. this is different.

A.D. needs to man up and go right at Tucker inside, we can't outshoot them.. Get him into foul trouble. Lebron could do it too, just go right at him relentlessly. Gotta start attacking and getting to the free throw line. Keep that C-bag out of the game too he sucks.

We can easily beat them but not by trading jumpers or being weak inside.

I guess If I’m nitpicking the bubble refs can be garbage, and the announcer team of Breen, JVG, and Jackson is horrible.
