I'm unnerved as anyone about our recent plat, but I think people need to remember that Playoff LeBron is a whole different animal.

There is something seriously wrong with how this team is playing. Chemistry is way off. Have a hard time feeling like they have the time to turn it around. I am officially worried.

    Offense looked better

Cook , AD, Caruso missed wide open 3s down the stretch ...

Team sucks without Bron on the floor , nothing new here .

Hit the nail on the head with this one. It reminds me of Phil losing most preseason games with the championship team(s) and people going crazy about it. We're not going to play like this and coach like this in the playoffs. Doesn't mean there are no things to fix, but it's not as bad as it looks.

I can understand the concept about not going all out with effort during these games. I know we are still experimenting with lines ups also. What I can’t wrap my head around is our total lack of ability to make wide open shots. Yes shooters will have hot and cold games but our team is in the freezer. Other teams have had just as long of a layoff as we have but are shooting much better then this team, so I don’t buy that as an excuse.

Me no likey this "experimenting" jazz... Other teams are building cohesion and we're not. I hope it doesn't bite us in the cabooze.

That’s a good point, gc, but I hope they have enough experience and know why they are doing this. Cookie also makes a very valid point and I think it’s the main issue here. Shooting did look better last night. I think we were around our average for 3.

Yes...part of me says they'll figure it out but it makes me uneasy. If that's the case, we better cut out our opponent's heart early then before applying the finishing touch. The shooting has been abysmal though we can offset it with staunch defense like we are capable of even without Bradley.

I know these games right now are meaningless for us but I'd still like to win one just to get back on track. Hopefully we can do so against Utah.

This is what scares me. Our shooting was always a little shaky to begin with, but we always had enough to get by. Shooting slumps like this take a while to get out of. It's not going to magically snap into place because it's a playoff game. A wide open shot is not an effort play, nor is it something you're thinking about like, "Hey. I'm wide open. I'm going to shoot it, but we're already locked into the #1 seed, so I'm going to let the ball roll off my fingers to the left instead since it doesn't matter if it goes in." Portland is NOT an 8 seed. They are only in that position because they have been missing essentially their entire frontcourt for the entire season. They are a 4-5 seed if healthy. I wouldn't be worried if we had another 10-15 games to go before the playoffs. But we can't be sorting this out during a first round series against a very good Portland team.

Denver 2nd unit running circles around our 1st unit. A little embarrassing.

Team shot 68% from the free throw line and missed 10 free throws.

Defense was bad; missed free throws, too.

I'm concerned. We don't look like the same team. Maybe our guys really feed off of crowds, even road crowds. The last few games, we couldn't shoot. Today we had gaping defensive breakdowns.

I know we miss Avery Bradley, but this is different. Something is mentally off.

It's the bubble and this team doesn't have anything to play for.

Malone is a good coach with lots of talented players and he ran with guys who were hot. I've seen this so many times through the years that teams have difficulty playing defense against guys they don't know and don't have much film. Its why the Lakers after a Kobe injury or the Cavs after an Lebron injury would catch teams by surprise a few times before reality set in.

Overall a lot more positive than negatives from this game: when Vogel decides to play real lineups (i.e. more Morris/Waiters/Howard and less McGee/Cook/JR) the team looks like the one pre-bubble.

Still need to get Danny Green head on straight but at least he hit a few shots, figure out if you're really going to give THT a shot in the playoffs, how to find Morris more minutes, etc.

I think it's fair to say this team in its current state does NOT look like a championship team. Not too many contenders did though, so this should be interesting.

Green KCP and Caruso better get in the gym or something. They keep shooting that that, they going fishing real early. That’s 9 straight playoff losses now...:speechless:

I’ve been a supporter of Frank Vogel all season, but his backcourt tandem of KCP/Green is not working. We get off to horrible starts with them in. We’re basically playing 2 on 5. Something has to give.

Coaching. If your players aren't hitting shots, try a different rotation.
Have a 6 point lead, not riding Kuz's hot hand.
Your superstars missing 4 clutch FTs.
KCP+Green about as useful as I would be.
