Don’t get me wrong, yeah for most people it probably won’t be that bad. In fact that’s part of the problem, I think we’re learning that a lot of people are actually asymptomatic or such barely affected that they don’t realize they’re sick at all, and meanwhile have spread it to others. Others who it might develop into something more serious or even fatal.

If you’re relatively healthy and not elderly, most likely you won’t too severely affected by this. But there is a chance that you might. And those chances are an order of magnitude higher than chances of getting severely affected by the flu. Maybe the difference between 1% to 3% fatality rate might not sound that bad (don’t quote me on that, I’m not sure if that’s the exact difference). But when you consider this is more contagious to begin with and apply that to the entire population, we’re looking at millions of lives being affected.

So that is to say, don’t panic. But we should take collective action to minimize the impact of this as much as possible.

The panic buying is certainly not helping. I went to a local Trader Joes today and the line wrapped around the corner and the parking lot was jammed. This is insane. How much toilet paper does one need?

Not really, what I want to do is put all our resources into changing this with the intent to F them right where the sun don't shine!!! They want a cultural war, let's give them one!! They want a real war, let's give them one!!! I don't want that but I am not afraid of them and refuse to cower in fear to them. F that!! If they want to force us into a corner, let's come out fighting!!

Rumors of 2 week quarantine coming in the next few days. Don’t panic, but nows the time to make sure you’re prepared.

So CDC said to not have gatherings of 50+ people for the next 8 weeks. So that means no NBA (at least with no fans) til mid May in a best case scenario if the league is to follow the guidelines.

I don’t see how they could have games into August. You’d have to think about what that’d do to the players bodies going into next season, they’d have like a month off. But whatever, I miss basketball, but this season already feels over, I don’t think that anything that happens in sports during this time is going to be looked at the same.

Finish the last 19 games and have the playoffs only be the top 4 from each conference. No 5-8 seed would win it all anyway, so, save yourself the headache. Regular season gets finished in one month, then the playoffs can finish in 6 weeks.

Yeah. I agree. The market is already bad enough. We need to get back to as close to normal as possible in order to get the economy up and running. Basketball games are a huge financial stimulus to the local economies. Going off your earlier post, I don't think they can cut the playoffs down to 4 teams. I think they are more likely to chop 10 games off the regular season and have a full slate of playoffs. More money to be made televising the playoff games than games 62-72 of the regular season.

I think we could see a shortened season next season as well in order to give the players time to rest.

They should also consider reducing the playoff format from 7 games to 5 games, except the Finals.
