Pretty much the biggest dips**t in the news atm, let alone the league. Outside of maybe Kim Un Jong playing God in the face of this disease.

Ultimately I think Gobert wanted to reassure people even if he went about it in a jacka** fashion. And I would say that whether or not he or Mitchell had contracted it. Nevertheless it's not like he had evil intentions. Just no brains.

I read somewhere that based on the context of the interview, Gobert was touching the microphones to show solidarity for the reporters. The NBA had just enacted policies that restricted media access, and so he was trying to show that he wasn’t worried about catching the virus from the reporters. Not the other way around. Not sure how true that is, and he’s an idiot regardless. But yes while the vitriol against him is warranted, I’m not going to hold it against the guy forever. Hopefully the microphone touching did not actually spread the virus to any one else, and hopefully that is not how the virus spread to him.

And it definitely doesn’t make sense to blame Gobert personally for the season getting suspended. If it wasn’t him, someone else was bound to become patient zero for the NBA soon anyways.

Have you seen that book going around called The Eyes Of Darkness by Dean Koontz? It mentions a virus called “Wuhan-400”. Book published in 1981.

so, i'm no oenophile. ok, i do love wine, but not in the way the term suggests.

anyway, trader joe's sells some decent (imo) french wine (table and pinot noir) for like, 7 or 8 bucks a bottle.

    do it do it.

but based on your name, i'm guessing that's swill. it's fine. just don't tell me.

COVID-19 has officially hit NYC. There’s not a single piece of food left at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.

Subways were eerily empty today, but I just went for a walk around the neighborhood and the restaurants/bars seem to be doing alright so far. Delivery business will help the restaurants through this, but it’ll hit all the servers and bartenders pretty hard.

If it wasn't Gobert, it would have been someone else. It was bound to happen. The Jazz traveling party had 58 people in it. It seems most teams travel with retinues that number in the dozens. Multiply that by the number of teams. And the employees of those teams who don't make it on the plane. As opposed to us poor slugs who can't be bothered to get out of our bunny feet jammies at home.

tl;dr: Don't beat up on Gobert; this was inevitable.

Costco was also dried up. Good thing I stocked up a few weeks ago. Looks like it will be chicken for the next few weeks.

I really hope the playoffs will happen even if play only resume in end of May/June ...

Just cut next season to 60ish games
