I like J.R. Smith better than Dion. People forget that despite J.R.'s antics, he was a 40% shooter when playing alongside LeBron. In the 2015-2016 title run, J.R. Smith put up a spurt in the third Q that allowed the Cavs to climb back. For that entire playoffs season, he shot 43% from three with over 7 attempts per game. The guy might be aloof but him understanding his role and being able to play with LeBron is something you have to give him credit for. J.R. would fit right in with the Lakers in terms of chemistry on/off the court. Will Dion? Not sure that is a gamble you want to take this late into the season.

That was a long time ago now, I think he may be more accurate with bowls of soup at this point. He can’t even create his own shot either, it’s such a lateral move to Daniels, he’s just taller. I just don’t like these names at all, again, if we wanted a guy over the hill that only does one thing and may not be the best teammate in accepting a lesser role, we should have gone with Melo. And I did NOT want Melo, but if my options are Waiters, JR, an 80 year old Crawford, and Melo, ok I’ll take Melo I guess.

Well to be fair, people are using one game to gauge JR's lack of ability

If this was prime JR, I'd say sign him immediately, but people forget he's pretty much done at this point. What do they expect him to give us on the court? He's Bron's age, but hasn't really played at a high level in recent years. Maybe he'd be good as a bench guy with championship experience who doesn't really play much, if at all, but in that case - do we really need him at all? Maybe I am missing something, but what would his role be, exactly?

    They're going to sign Waiters.

I'm just waiting for the report to come out.

Now, with Waiters, I know exactly what his role would be, I'm just not sure if his head is in the right place. Like, if he was mentally prepared and ready to be a true team player - he could be good, excellent even. But I will believe it when I see it, just like I said about Dwight (who impressed me). So, I'm willing to give him a chance, but Bron and AD better keep him under control.

Signing Waiters makes zero sense when we've shown we're not ready to cut Rondo's minutes. All this is going to do is take away time from guys like Caruso, KCP and Green - guys that I'd MUCH rather have on the court versus Waiters.

I"m going to bang my head against the wall if I see Rondo/Waiters out there together coming off the bench

Bang Metta's instead. It's probably harder and zero pain for you.

Not a Waiters fan but at this point I have to just give the FO some respect and whoever they go with I'll support. They've made good calls thus far. If they think he can turn it around, let's give him a try. Or who knows, maybe we settle on someone else. It will be interesting to see in the next couple weeks.

I'd go with Waiters because JR is too similar to KCP andn Green...Waiters is at least someone that can play PnR and set up others.

Problem is that I feel Waiters OR JR are going to take time away from guys that are playing WELL such as Caruso, KCP, Green...when he should be taking away time from someone like Rondo.

    I'm dreading a Rondo/Waiters backcourt coming off the bench...YIKES.

Its gotta be Waiters right? He’s connected to Lebron, Rob and Rich Paul.

I’m not a fan but LFR managed to convince me some on their recent podcast. He’s a scorer and we need some of that at the guard rotation, we need that when Lebron is out and the offense is struggling to get a good look. He’s also capable of making tough shots where most of our other guards tend to look for the open look.

He shouldnt be getting a lot of mins though, Troy replacement pretty much, a body for when the main guys rest down the stretch. He’s also recently played though probably not mentally there.

I like JR for his ability to catch fire from the 3, maybe that alone wins us a game or two in the playoffs. Problem is he hasnt played in awhile. Does he have the focus to still be in shape?,
