You definitely aren't a business guy. You have no idea what you are talking about here. 2021 is one of the best free agency classes of all-time. Rob isn't dumb. We re-sign AD and negotiate with LeBron during his opt-out year depending on who we can get. What you're saying can be said of every team out there. Speaking of your Pelicans... Ingram will be maxed this offseason.

Lonzo and Hart will get better offers and Pelicans will have to match. Brandon Ingram will get maxed out this offseason. So what are you even talking about, dude? Do you really think the Pelicans get to keep their players forever?

They have a sustainable ecosystem where they discard or trade the weaker assets and sign the better ones.

Am I wrong to say it's better to have picks and young assets while forming your roster?

    Another brilliant assumption... lol

They would be far far scarier if they just kept AD. AD is a perfect fit next to Zion. They would still have Holiday and all their first rounders.
AD is like the perfect superstar complementary player: great defender, rebounder, secondary scorer, not a ballhog, good team guy.

You really care way too much about the Pelicans

I'm not so sure. BI has proven himself to be a solid player... Now Zo is playing well. Hart has been a good sixth man type player. And of course the picks.
We keep winning without AD... he's a great player and obviously better than any of those individually but I need to see him lead us to at least a few rounds of playoff wins before I'm sold on what you all are saying.

I'm not saying it won't happen... but I'd be more convinced of your respective positions if we actually see results.

And I do like AD as a person. Glad we have him... only unhappy about the price.

pelicans winning % without ingram: .625
pelicans winning % with ingram: .403

lakers winning % without AD: .750
lakers winning % with AD: .7802

if the lakers "keep winning without AD", what are the pelicans doing with brandon christ?

    Six assets not one, abeer

And as I said... if the Pelicans win about 36-38 games... AD and BI's winning percentage the first four years will both be around 41%

    this conversation is still going?

i don't get why it's so hard to grasp the reason why the lakers gave up 3 young pieces for AD. lebron has maybe one more season left of playing at an elite level and that's it. there was zero chance they were going to let that go to waste by not bringing in another superstar and becoming instant title contenders (something they would not have any chance of being with lonzo+ingram still here)

BI showed flashes of what he's become last season but there was no way he'd be playing like that if he was still a laker and playing alongside lebron. hell, not even lonzo would be playing as well as he's been. getting away from toxic lavar/BBB was the best thing that could've happened to him and he'd still be surrounded by all that stuff if he was still in LA

The Laker effect. If Harden came here his game would fall off a cliff
