Just finished watching the memorial. A beautiful ceremony, so hard to watch all those speak, thankful for sharing their experiences and life stories. Was in tears for most of it, brought back so much hurt for all involved. Gonna be a rough few days I feel, have to pull strength from Kobe's legacy to get through this. Prayers to all.

Alright, I've posted in this thread 3 times since Kobe's death. I knew I'd write a blog cause I would have to figure out what and why of me doing it. I knew I wouldn't do it before the memorial. To be honest, I wasn't sure I could after watching Vanessa talk but, like I said before, this is my therapy (so to speak). So as we say goodbye to Kobe and Gianna I share my reason why Kobe's death matters to me.

Check it out if you want.

I am surprised someone didn't buy all of it and sell it on eBay. It will be worth some money in the future for collectors.

I've had Moonlight Sonata in my head for 30 hours straight. Alicia absolutely smashed that.

I played it on my earbuds as I went to sleep last night. Slept like a baby, first time in a week.

Retired Maria Sharapova Reveals Kobe Bryant 'Meeting That Never Happened'
    Brian Jones

    02/26/2020 01:56 pm EST

Maria Sharapova recently announced her retirement from tennis and Kobe Bryant played a big factor in her decision. Sharapova, who has won five Grand Slam titles in her career, spoke to the New York Times about her retirement. She revealed she was supposed to meet the Los Angeles Lakers legend before he died in a helicopter crash along with his 13-year old daughter Gianna and seven other people on Jan. 26.

"We were supposed to see each other like three days after the crash," Sharapova said who added that Bryant has been an "incredible sounding board" during her career.

The reason Sharapova was going to meet Bryant was to talk about her physical skills not being as strong as they once were.

"I think we all seem at times in our journey like larger than life because of what we do, but everyone at the core is incredibly fragile," she said of Bryant. "And if anything it just opens up your eyes to what really matters in life, so that was a moment where I had a really good think about my future as well."

Once the crash happened, Sharapova decided to call it a career. However, she knew that her time playing professionally was going to end very soon.

It's these little stories that have been popping up that does it for me every time. He got labeled as selfish for most of his career and then there's story among many...

Was Phil constantly falling asleep at the memorial? WTF

Reminds me of his Knicks days when he was criticized for falling asleep during rookie workouts etc...

Is it old age? I have no idea but his head was almost always down and his eyes were closed...kind of embarassing.
