Actually you are. It's one thing to have a strong opinion about the FO and disagree with their decisions. You have every right to do that.

It's another thing entirely to make up a claim about the FO having "bad intel" and "no backup plan" when you literally have no idea based in facts about their intel or plans.

If Pete said it's a fair criticism, then I'll agree with him more so than I would with you with all due respect, Time.

Also, didn't you say Rob was working behind the scenes with Collison and might have been more tapped in than most?

Well, we seen how that turned out.

I've been wrong plenty; and I will continue to be about things since I'm not perfect; I don't root for this team to fail; I just want them to have the best chance possible at winning.

    That's it.

But hey, I'm not here to criticize or say how fans should enjoy watching he Lakers.

You guys do you...it's all good here.

This is the right thread to complain in, so it’s all good.

My WMC, Missed some recent games and didn’t care. Had nothing to do with the trade deadline either. Wondering if I’ll ever care that much again post Kobe...

Collison being at the Lakers game courtside and then shortly after that deciding to stay retired is my WMC of the month.

We've already had to deal with a lot in the past couple of weeks - why play with Lakers fans and LAKERS in general like that?

If you planned on staying retired, you likely didn't make that decision in 2 days - your mind was already made up before you attended the game and made the decision to sit courtside with Jeeanie freaking Buss.

Oh well...it is what it is...I hope this motivates Rondo to play a lot better and I'm holding out hope that Playoff Rondo is lurking somewhere beneath the s*** he's been playing under all year.

It's very disappointing. I don't know what is up with Collison but I'm not buying that it was anything on our side - we clearly were wining and dining him and the fans applauded him at the game, etc. This one is on him. I didn't understand his retirement at 32 to begin with, so I guess it's not a surprise that I don't understand him staying retired when we clearly had the money and the desire to get him here. He's an odd bird.

Ok, on to the buyout market.

I kinda think he told Rob a little while ago he was going to stay retired. His appearance at Staples Center was a last ditch effort to convince him to change his mind. That’s why he looked so sheepish when they should him on the Jumbotron.

I think Weezy called it. Would not be surprised at all if he himself wanted to come back but the Jehovah's Witness (cult like according to Weezy) connection somehow did not want it to happen. Seems too damn fickle of him to announce his interest in a comeback possibly and working out and tease the L.A. teams for over a month and then .... nah, never mind I don't really want to play now. With a chance to play for his hometown Lakers and even contribute toward the chance of a ring. Just weird. Screw him for that distraction, my apologies for that feeling.

the guy retired with 2-3 years left of prime money-making ball left in him. he's clearly not operating in the same way most of us operate. it's ok. his heart wasn't in it. more power to him. we'll be ok.

You are always free to agree with whomever you choose and to disagree with me. However, it might be wise to read carefully what tweets you are basing your case on. The first one from Matien says "It appears...", meaning he is offering his speculation about what happened. Pete then replies to his point with "This is absolutely fair." Pete may or may not be criticizing the FO, but his tweet doesn't say that. FWIW, I think it's fair also, in the sense that it gives a certain appearance to those outside the FO. I just tend to be a little more reserved until I read a report based on actual information rather than speculation and conjecture. And, just because two or more share the same opinion about what they don't know, does not make their opinion more factual.

Fair enough - but when there is a propensity for these things happen, I think intelligent speculation and conjecture begin to lead to the same conclusions.

    All good, though.

Story on Collison's decision is he wasn't sure if he was ready and that meant he would be giving up big $ if he performed poorly for the Lakers this season. It was a safe and financial move for him. I can't blame him. At the end of the day, he did what he felt was best for him. Now the Lakers need to do what is best for them. No point in dreading on this.

They've drafted well...how about showing them out? Time to give THT some run out there. Dude has a 7'1 wingspan

Aha! OK that makes sense too. Maybe he still wants to play again but he's saving it for next year now and will command more money if he has more time to prepare, and not risk not looking like he could perform well enough again.

Matt Barnes said he texted Collison who told him he was 50-50 on coming back .

Lakers acted like it was a done deal so did nothing at the trade deadline about acquiring a PG and got played again by a player .

Next time Pelinka should make sure a retire player is 100% in on coming back .

Please tell me where I DO make stuff up

The underlined part. You didn't make it up, you read it, but it's still made up. That is not an actual account of the Lakers' actions before the deadline, it's a narrative. Narrative based on what is almost entirely speculation.

I mean yeah, we won, but we beat the Suns, and only by 25, so that’s essentially an L in the wins/loss column really, should have been by more and LeBron and AD should have only played 25-29 mins, not 30 and 31. Also Booker only scored 10 points on 2-11 so he’s probably having like women troubles or something, doesn’t even count as a real game since he wasn’t good. Something something Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, etc etc Marvin Williams. Pelinka’s momma is so dumb, she stared at a cup of orange juice for 12 hours because it said "concentrate.". Am I doing this right?
