Gives me the "willies" to see by default right now...... Young's name penciled in at starting SF. I have faith in Mitch to make us all smile by the end of the draft and FA with who(m) he comes up (with). [IMG] Check that expression below. Reminds me of "Guru's" signature back in the day on Clublakers ..... "Better than you"

I still think these picks are moved in some way before or on draft day. Combining them both to move up, picking for another team in hopes of a sign and trade, using them to dump Swaggy's contract. To all the people saying we will have too much youth on the roster, we can't take anymore rookies, you're all probably right. Okafor, Randle, Clarkson, Black, Brown and Kelly all have 2 years or less experience. That's half our freaking roster. haha. Granted Kobe is old enough to really skew the average.

Even if I wanted to trade Swaggy, which I am 100% against, I wouldn't do it now and have to dump picks into it.

You move him and his cap friendly deal at the trade deadline. Cap explodes following season, teams would be willing to give us picks for him, not the other way around.

I can think of a team next door who could have used an actual SF in the playoffs.

Dump Young and our picks, when we have no SF on the roster, a lock to take a big and the best SF are RFA?

You guys want to go into next season with Wesley Johnson again? I don't. We don't have that luxury right now. We need a 6th man, he's exactly that.

Well, I'm only thinking we dump Swaggy IF we have something else lined up in the small forward department. For instance, Carroll is about to sign and we were able to draft RHJ or Justin Anderson at 27, then I send Swaggy out with a second round pick or two so it frees up room to snag someone like Monta Ellis. I am not on the dump Swaggy train. I think he can bounce back from what was an injury riddled season and be our 6th man. I'm only thinking we dump him if we have a shot to add two nice free agents, with one of them being a sf.

I agree with yall. He only gets dumped if were able to land the prospects/free agents we want, which in that case wed all agree and support the move if thats how we get the player we truly want. He has value still, if people forgot then let him ball out for a bit on a fresh, new and improved team then shop when stock is solid.

Unless he's traded for a direct player of need (aka a veteran guard or center) then we have no real urgency to trade him. Young showed two years ago that he can be a great asset when he's engaged. When he's not engaged, obviously he's incredibly annoying but that's up to Scott and Kobe and Clarkson and Randle to keep him focused.

I'm not parting with a pick to move 3-4 million. and I still like young. how quick we are to turn on one of the few guys who has happy and proud to be a laker these last couple of years. I think he took a paycut to stay; that's worth something to me.

Never heard of any of those guys. 34th pick? Or maybe we are thinking of pulling a Clarkson again?

Just reading those names, the phrase "due diligence" comes to mind.

That's quite the group to be watching some 2nd rounders and some borderline draftable players.

He's a small, not terribly athletic PG who is a playmaker on offense (and a decent shooter), but he's a pretty excellent perimeter defender.

He's a scorer, solid rebounder for his size, and he's an adequate ball handler. Slasher, needs a better outside shot. Could try more on D.

Good shooter, solid defender, adapted his game - shot less, handed out more assists - throughout his career. Shot 41.5% on threes and 84% on FTs in his career. Imagine Nash with only decent handles and vision.

Offensive machine - set conference record for ORtg, finished with .675 TS% and .635 eFG%, 60% FGs, 43% threes, 76% FTs as a Senior. He's like two or three tiers down the "poor man's" Kevin Love list.

A powerful athlete who scores the ball. Shot 49% on FGs, 37% on 3s, and 77% on FTs in college. Played out of position at PG, so his ast/to ratio was awful. He's a SG in the NBA, a bit like Ty Lawson in a SG body with far worse handles. He's intriguing.

Had a breakout Senior year, averaging 12 and 7 with 1.5 steals, 1.3 blocks, and shooting 58% from the floor. He dropped 50 pounds by utterly changing his diet a couple years back. Not sure how he plays.
