I'm so glad to finally get some news about Collison and when he is likely to make his decision. I still think he'd be a perfect signing for us. Yes, we'd have to let someone go but I think we need to get him. Three point shooting, check. Great PG ability and passing, check. Better defense than any of our PG's except for Caruso, check. Works for me. We can pay him three times the amount that the Paper Clips can, check. This possibility revived has me optimistic.

Waiting that long screws us though, because if we need to make a move for a backup (or starting) PG it needs to be now. After the trade deadline we have to hope for buyouts, we can’t let our season rely on maybe Collison picks us over the Clippers or we get no one. If we have to rely heavily on Rondo going forward I fear for our long term success, as good as this team is. It pretty much grinds to a halt and gives up huge leads when Rondo checks in.

Looking into my common sense crystal ball this is already decided, he will be a Laker. Now that it's confirmed he's coming back. As @abeer3 posted the Clippers make

and the Lakers can pay him what .... double or more the money and have more of a need plus potential playing time? And why in the world would he not come play with, if for not one other player ..... Boogie who is tight enough with him to have had him at his small, private wedding out of the country. Why would he disrespect that. If he is coming he is going to be a Laker.

If he wants to stay in LA, I think the Lakers are a lock. Supposedly he didn’t like playing for Doc, plus he’s a better fit here.

Yes, for those reasons this seems like a no brainer
    • We need him. We're not trying to sign him just to play keep away from another team.
    • We CAN pay him double the tenants because of the injury exception and the fact that it is not prorated
    • He'll get minutes
    • Style of play seems like a good fit
    • Has played for Vogel
    • The Clippers are simply not the Lakers
    • But if he doesn't care about minutes, money, prestige, and just wants to sit on the bench and collect a check, then he should choose the Clippers.

I’m sure Rob has a clear sense of DC’s intentions already.

Rob's always working behind the scenes. He just doesn't talk about it as much as some might.

If we don't make a move this deadline, I have a feeling Collison will sign for us. We desperately need a scorer off the bench more than anything.

f*** him. Let him go from door to door and teach about "God". I don't think he's right in his head, taking his sweet a** time and all. Let's play Caruso more and wait for some buy-outs.

I think that's DC keeping it close to the vest... why would he tell Barnes when maybe he doesn't want anyone to know yet. I wouldn't read much about what Barnes says...
