It's like the chicken or the egg scenario. I don't really blame the players, I firmly believe that if BI was still on this team, he would be our solid 3rd option. Yeah, he may not have been the perfect fit, but with Lebron distributing like he is, I am more than sure he would have found a way to embrace BI. I'm not arguing that Kuz may be the better fit, I actually think he is, but BI is the better overall player. It's just playing with all young guys really hampers everyone's development. The ONLY thing our FO did reasonably well was stockpiling young talent that they were able to use as trade bait. To some degree, they were lucky. On the other hand bringing Moz and Deng was sooooo stupid, it makes you think there must have been something dirty/illegal going on behind the scenes. (Don't really believe this but just sayin'.)

I don't believe that our coaching staff ever were put into good positions to succeed. On the other hand, they were put into position to develop young talent and I don't really believe they did that successfully. Every single one of these guys, other than Lonzo, has done way better on their new teams than they ever did with us. Makes you wonder what was wrong here. I really believe most of the problem was with Jimbo and Mitch simply went along with it. To this day, I am actually shocked the Mitch didn't make a stand against Jimbo, he really made a bad choice on who to back. That being said, didn't I read that he traded for Moz again with his new team??? Why would he do that?

I came after he left, but I thought someone said he had wives in multiple countries. Was that true?

Sorry if you've felt unwelcome here.
As you've noticed, there are a lot of "older", long term Members here. Not a lot of tolerance for BS.
Yes, some people are more abrasive than others, but I think you'll find this is the most knowledgable & reasonable Message Boards out there.

It's not been too bad... as I said, it's par for the course. It's human nature to protect one's space, even if it's virtual.

I'm just thinking from the perspective that if I were a more timid person... I would feel discouraged from saying anything against the board orthodoxy.

Message boards seem like a dying format in general, so I'd think if anyone joined... one's goal should be to cultivate new members rather than to scare them off. And different opinions should be valued not discouraged as long as the person is not abusive. To me there is nothing more boring than listening to the same opinions over and over.

I keep figure that complaining people who are invisible to me, must be complaining about me. ???? But I simply do us both a favor by not looking at them. That keeps me from reacting to them and ending out rude. I don't want to be rude but I can only take so much from people. It's the Facebook reality. Once I determine that there is little chance that I can have a civil discussion with someone, I just turn them off. Seems fair and good to me.

Hey it's not like it's the Borg here or some everyone has everyone else's back group think either. You've gone off on 3 or 4 really questionable takes that you defend strongly. A number of people vary apparently and on their own happen to strongly disagree with your basic tenets on them. Don't blame it on the site.

My main WMC is we don’t have enough defence at the 3 to go against PG and Kawhi over 7 games. Green can take one, Lebron can only check the other for limited minutes before it will start to wear him out on the other end.

All it takes is a few easy buckets to get either of them going and then it’s off to the races. We’re holding out for Iguodala, but it’s not looking like Memphis isn’t budging and neither is he.

I’d love to package Kuzma and something else for Covington. We could roll out a Bradley, Green, Convington, Lebron, AD lineup that could just clamp down defensively with a ton of shooting. That would match up really well against Lou, PG, Kawhi, Harkless, Harrell.

Other than that, my other issue is Kuzma not being that consistent third guy to get the team some buckets when we slow down.

I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with my takes. I have a problem with some overzealously misrepresenting what I said originally and blowing them out of proportion for effect.

For example the Ingram issue. I never said he was the same value as AD... I said maybe Ingram plus Zo/Hart (one of Culver, Garland, Hayes, Hunter, White) plus two future picks was steep. Keeps somehow transforming into how I delusionally say they are the same. I only said Ingram could surpass him as an offensive threat... but never defense.

For example the IT issue. I only threw it out in a conversation where people were proposing scoring options. Two weeks later, people are still throwing it back in my face. I don't mind this as I think it's funny... but don't act like I'm the one who keeps bumping the subject.

Something tells me none of you were raised to back down if people try to troll or bully you off of your position. Most of you stand your ground as I would expect you to do... so why would I be any different?

I watched IT play a few times and although he's doing okay... his play at this point seems average. An average IT isn't a good acquisition combined with his poor defense. I've conceded this over and over yet people still enjoy bringing it up. When they do, I'll keep responding... but I won't bring up acquiring him again unless it's for free or if he vastly improves.

If LBJ or AD gets injured... would I go up to each of you and say "Aha... I told you this plan was dangerous because our team is too top heavy."

No... I would be disappointed as the rest of you as I want the team to win.

But that's how the gloating comes across where people feel vindicated about an overpay because we've been lucky in some games and more importantly in our signings and the continued form of LBJ.

One thing I will say is that AD has really impressed me the last few games... taking much more efficient shots and dominating on defense. Also, this is even more impressive in light that he's probably doing this with a torn labrum. The more he keeps improving and honing his game... the less the trade feels excessive to me. If he stays healthy all year and his arm continues to heal the more the trade becomes defensible.

I remember when I first started posting I had some back and forths with certain posters - in particular therealdeal about how average Lonzo was offensively while I had some great agreements with posters like abeer. It’s all part and parcel of posting on an open forum. As a lot of posters came over from the old forum, quite a few of them had similar points of view. So keep posting at a high quality and you’ll find more people who agree with your point of view.

I genuinely appreciate different points of view, if everyone in a room is thinking alike, then no one is thinking!

This place is family. We go back and forth, whine and complain. We tease relentlessly and have each other’s backs. We cheer and catastrophize, but mostly we laugh.

You bring great thoughts to this board @Sentient Meat , even if we at times mock you. Don’t take things too personally. Welcome to the family!

The refs were absolute trash tonight. Luckily it didn't matter a whole lot. Still 4 fouls on Lebron in the first half was just ridiculous.

I always hated how little guys can guard much bigger guys and when they get bumped out of the way, it's a foul on the bigger guy. If you're big, you shouldn't be punished for a smaller defender not being able to physically guard you. Same story happens when LeBron is being guarded by a bigger player and when he gets hit, they don't give him a foul call. Total double standard.

My WMC is Kuzma continuing to look average - if we want to beat Clippers/Bucks we'll need him to be that 3rd guy and so far, he hasn't been.

Or maybe AD/LeBron will be so great that it won't even matter that Kuzma is just a role player?

Honestly I'm starting to feel that we just don't need him to necessarily be that third guy on a regular basis. We are doing a great job of spreading the offense around. Even KCP is now lobbing and creating plays for Dwight in the lane. I think Vogel has emphasized moving the ball around and getting the best possible shot. I'm seeing it as more of growth test for Kuzma. I thought he would just be a scorer, but his defense has improved under Vogel a great deal. He's still a work in progress but in the meantime other guys are stepping up in different games: Caruso, Rondo, Green, KCP, even Cook and Daniels. The center production has been pretty good at manufacturing points as well. Kuz can still score. He'll figure it out.
