Honestly felt like we lost our composure with the refs and really unraveled in the third.

We were due for a loss with some of the performances we’ve had during the win streak. Hope to see us bounce back strong at Utah.

Mason on ESPN today said that up to this point the Lakers have had the 25th weakest schedule, but that going forward they have the 6th hardest schedule. Just prepare yourself for some losses because you know how one loss can lead to a meltdown around here sometimes.

Back to Back wins in Denver and Utah would be huge. They usually lose those games even during the title runs.

Let's just focus on beating Denver first. I had a good feeling about this month until the Dallas game.
If we beat Denver, then hopefully the momentum comes back. If we lose it could be a bumpy ride.

Utah at home is a way better team than on the road

today's wmc: utah has two days off after a road trip so disappointing that espn felt compelled to write an article trashing their recent play (espn cared about utah!). now they get two days off before they get us off a b2b with denver.

One of the more overrated players of the decade. Never really understood the big deal and even more now with him making 35 mil per.

Harden is shooting (14) 3 pointers per game on average

I don’t think it’s good for the game.

the league needs to do something about this, imo. analytics dictate we should just have one guy dribble a lot (limits turnovers) and chuck up threes (higher expected point value than non-paint 2s). gotta fix those percentages somehow. one way is moving the three point line back; another is to officiate post play the same way you officiate perimeter play (or at least closer to it), raising the value of getting the ball closer to the basket.

i think where the league gets confused is that it thinks fans want to see points. but they just want to see an exciting game. blocked shots are exciting, too. well-executed floaters are exciting. and yes, even nimble post moves are exciting. allstar games are decidedly not exciting, despite all their points! free throws are the least exciting thing the game has to offer.

There is an art to what three point shooters do, just like there's an art to what a dominant inside player does.

If you want to see someone perform acrobatics on the way to the rim... why not watch gymnastics instead?

All methods of scoring have their merits, and those who find the best combination win the game.

IF it's so easy to do what Harden does, why don't greater athletes just go out and do it?

Because they can't. It's not a moral stand that makes them avoid playing like Harden... they can't do it.

well, they can't get bailed out by FTAs when things go sideways. but actually, lots of guys can manufacture and hit stepback threes at a 30% clip. you're seeing evidence all over the league.

Harden isn't especially charismatic or handsome... he's a chubby dude with a big beard. Why on earth would the NBA single this guy out to be the face of the league? Are you saying they have some sort of Santa fetish?

I'm not saying they shouldn't stop the cheating... I'm only saying if it were that easy then everyone would throw themselves at their opponents like Lou and Harden and become 40 ppg scorers.

Look at the TV ratings, down 20%. I guess people are tired of the no D, 3 point chucking contest.
