Not the first time you've felt the need to say this. How's the content quality top to bottom on all those bigger boards that follow the Lakers? There's a reason you are here and you are very welcome here, in spite of some very odd takes. Don't expect because your observations are indeed well spoken and defended unflinchingly that there's no push back on the odd continuing ones. You see what we do to @vasashi17 . :giggle:

    Said for fun.

What's odd and in my opinion is the fault of photographers, is that now it is only in the photos sometimes when they look like canary yellow. Get your white balance right FFS. Watching on a calibrated large display the gold does look fine and like it used to.

    no. before you started?

your strawman game is pretty annoying, tbh. you either don't recognize it or do it disingenuously. nobody said you can't be negative (though it's ironic you're here to urinate in cheerios in the optimism thread). nobody said the team is winning the title (i'm pretty sure they're not, cuz math). what people are saying is that if your schtick is to show up everywhere trying to poke holes in things, you might experience some pushback.

    like, every time.

    Appreciate the welcoming comments.

What I don't get is that the premise of every major sports show, whether it's Skip and Shannon, or Max and Stephen A... is for two people to have a debate.

I have no problem with people who disagree with me, but what I do have a problem is people who adopt a hive mentality or go into echo chamber mode and try to bully someone who has a different opinion than themselves.

How boring would any message board be if everyone thought the same and only tolerated those who were like minded.

Sadly this is become the rule rather than the exception.

If you want to converse with right wing Trump fans you could post on the Daily Mail website... if you want to converse with liberals, you post on The Guardian's message boards. The problem with this is most people don't like conflict so instead of conversing with those who have opposing views, the trend is to bully the contrarian position off the board... and then you end up with two echo chambers rather than one universal site where people listen to one another.

I left a message board recently where I had contributed several thousand posts... I liked most of the people there, but one of their moderators told me I had to tone down my rhetoric. I said many of the things I've said here... I thought the trade was an overpay, I supported signing Dwight and Boogie, I wanted to keep Ingram and try to sign AD next season. I was sarcastic but I never was cruel or bullying to anyone. But when I felt restricted and saw other people who were allowed to endlessly troll and make low quality posts I told the moderator to ban me rather than not say how I felt.

I like this site so far... my only gripe is that there isn't enough traffic, but those who post generally make good quality contributions.

So that's why I've made those references.

And what exactly have you done to me?

Sorry to bust y’all bubble, but y’all can’t do s*** to mute my opinion!

    :p

And the ones who tell those who willingly choose to interact with me to mute me is some sucker s***. They need to stop playing games, cause the only ones they playing is themselves.

Btw I disagree with some of the stuff you say Sentient, but you on point with this post...

Soooo hard to express tone with words, but I assure you my comments were made in jest and i wasn’t addressing you in particular with some of my more direct dialogue. I apologize to you if it came off that way.

Any who, a difference of opinion is a good thing here to further discussion. Its an attempt to mute folks here that is wild to me cause it’s a discussion forum. What else could we possibly do then? Hold hands throughout the season?

except that no one's being muted. it's not like people are getting banned for disagreement. ironically, they're getting argued against, and it seems to bother them--i guess because they're in the minority on several fronts?

but the call to stop censorship is misplaced here.

I’m in a circle next to you. Yes. I do know where I am...in a circle of jerks.

Now am I enjoying it? No.

It would behoove you to show some finesse in a tug of war debate. C-oww. I’m not about a life where my junk starts looking triangular. Get me out of this circle.
    :p

I could only speak for myself, but if it’s been implied to me that I need to mute my opinion due to other’s insecurities, yeah that’s kinda wild to me. If a grown man/woman chooses to engage with members in a discussion on a discussion forum and others come in to recommend that they would enjoy themselves more by muting them, it’s a wild recommendation, right?

Two members are willingly engaged in a discussion. So a third coming in to state how they shouldn’t needs to be told only one thing: stay in your lane.

If you choose to mute other members on a discussion board, hey that your right to be meek. But if you meddle in other members’ affairs and request other members to do the same as you, that’s squ-weak and get your goofy a** up out our conversation, Meeky Mouse.

Abeer, you know the difference and if you’ve been paying attention (I believe you have), you should know what I’m talking about.

Anyways, optimism. Our stars are relatively healthy, motivated and absolutely exploiting the schedule right now. Get that lead so that you can coast some during the 2nd act before cranking it up heading into that final stretch.

If you disagree with someone, you are not required to respond.

Wut? There are other boards that follow the Lakers? I refuse to acknowledge them. They do not exist.

We are never going to mute discussion, debate, disagreement or even argument.

We will eventually mute trolling, baiting and other forms of site rule breaking. Even if our generous nature sometimes delays the inevitable.
