Houston - Indy game. Win-win. Houston wins, Indy relinquishes division lead and we're up. Indy wins and Houston falls behind us. Of course, business have to be taken care of beating the Jets.
...so I was on NFL TV Total Access and Kurt Warner's Top 5 QB of the week. To my utter shock, Carr ends up at 5th because he loved his decision making along with his accuracy even stating that he's having a great season. What...!? Stopped and didn't give a damn who the other four were. Jets have the 3rd ranked run defense but Fantasy scribes had them on the Sit 'Em watch? So confused... Crosby earned Defensive Player of The Week.
That draft... Clelin Ferrell (1.4) 50.4 on PFF 9 starts, 5 passes defended, 3.5 sacks, 5 QB hits, 4 TFL. He's a pro at batted balls. Rushing more consistently since moving mostly exclusively to DE. Josh Jacobs (1.24) 89.7 on PFF 923 rushing yards, 7 TDs; 17 receptions, 144 yards. He's been a beast since day 1. A favorite for OROY. Johnathan Abrams (1.27) 42.1 on PFF Started out of the gates, had five tackles and a PD in his first start. Shelved with injury. Trayvon Mullen (2.40) 71.5 on PFF He's now a starter, with 4 PD and 24 tackles. First career INT last week. Maxx Crosby (4.106) 66.5 on PFF Now a starter, with 6.5 sacks, 28 tackles, 11 QB hits, 8 TFL, 3 FF, 3 PD. He has a DROW under his belt, and he's competing for top rookie honors on defense. Isaiah Johnson (4.129) 67.7 on PFF Starting to get onto the field more now that he's over his injury. Only 8 snaps so far though. Foster Moreau (4.137) 68.9 on PFF Moreau has started seven games, has 16 grabs for 142 yards and 4 TDs. In his last 7 games, he has piled up 13 receptions, 121 yards, and all of his TDs. He has snagged 13 of 16 targets in that span. Hunter Renfrow (5.149) 74.5 on PFF 33 receptions, 365 yards, and 2 TDs. Nearly two-thirds of his grabs (21) have gone for 1st downs. Moreau has been a beast over the last four games, with 19 receptions, 250 yards, and 2 TDs. Those trend toward 1000 yards and 8 TDs over a full season. Quinton Bell (7.230) No longer with the Raiders.
If they keep it up to stay at or near the top spots and Mayock does not receive Executive of The Year...a crime has been committed.
He was giving up 30-50 pounds inside. It was a terrible idea. To Guenther's credit, I'm starting to see the bend-don't-break idea in the defense. When you have guys you don't know playing positions they're not familiar with, it was break-and-break-some-more. Now, things are different. The Raiders have surrendered 242 passing yards in the past two weeks - COMBINED (121 per game). That's after getting toasted for 1061 yards in the previous three games (354 per game). The run D has been less impressive, so it hasn't been all good. But with 7 TOs and 12 sacks in the last three, it's clear the defense has turned up the intensity. I think that this is a defense that can stay in games. They'll give up plays and yardage, but they're starting to get the key play - TOs, sacks, and breakups. Oakland needs a LB who can cover. But once they get that, I can see them moving toward one of their better defenses in years.
Oakland 24 New York Jets 23 This could be a battle. The Jets' problem has been their offense, not their defense. Even against offensive stalwarts like the Bills, the Patriots, and the Eagles, the defense has played well. The Washington game was an anomaly. The offense, on the other hand, was horrific early on, but over the last three weeks there are signs of life. The Jets have posted 82 points in the last three games, and they've averaged 370+ yards in that span. New York's weaknesses are the kicking game, turnovers, and pass defense. This could come down to a FG, and Oakland would have the advantage there. Something to watch is the play of Waller and Williams. The Jets just shut down TEs. They've allowed only 38 receptions, 408 yards, and 2 TDs through ten games to TEs. So, anything Waller and Moreau can offer in the receiving game should be gravy. The Jets have been torched by WRs though, to the tune of the second worst TD/game rate in the NFL (1.5). It's time for Tyrell to have a monster game.
@trodgers I get baffled why Ingold is never mentioned in this class then I realized he was not drafted. Like him as a player.
came in to say.... We look like hot garbage today! What a disappointment after all the hype. Defense sucks. Offense sucks. Well we have let ourselves down so far. Still some game left but this is looking like a huge L. Have a tiny bit of hope still.
