Dude was partially guaranteed, so they possibly waived him before a guaranteed trigger date.

Another possibility...their roster is now sitting at 14 and they may have gotten wind of a buyout candidate or are prepping for a trade that has more incoming bodies.

Coulda load managed more extensively and discreetly with less pressure to rush back with two other stars on the roster, dummy.

Yeah that’s definitely a possibility too haha.

    (Looks at our roster...stops laughing)

i thought we had a real shot at kawhi for that reason alone: we had the setup that would allow him to miss 20 games and still be in comfortable playoff position. i know george is lighting the world on fire, but i don't expect that to continue, and extended absences for either of them are just as damaging as absences to lebron/AD for us. their role players are better, but not good enough to consistently beat decent teams.

just thought I'd share and get some conversation...just baseless rumor but its centered around kuzma/kcp/tht for Lauri Markennen....after seeing AD offense I'm afraid what it would be like if we had 2 jump shooting bigs but Lauri attacked the rim pretty well last season so not sure whats sup with him this season and with AD/Mcgee/Howard behind him I think we could hide alot of his defensive deficency as well. IF there was ever a big with potential to be a great long term duo with AD its Lauri (if he gets back to last season form going forward)...

More interesting than IT. I wouldn’t give them any assets (tht, picks), though. They’d be selling low on markannen.

he’s of similar value to kuz, but is a 4/5 instead of a 3/4.

Guess Pau didn't want to end his career playing alongside Melo.

That would be really unfortunate for him. What a mysterious situation. And because it’s the flips, you don’t truly trust the rumors.

I dont believe that, why would Kawahi take only a 2yr deal with a player opt knowing he's damaged goods? even the other dumber'r brother (PG) took a full max contract

Cuffs is like going to a psychic on the boardwalk.
He just says random sh*t that might be possible and sometimes it sticks.
Credit for always capturing the imagination of the public though.

Kawhi was being load managed and still missed three straight games. No one outside of the Clippers organization knows how bad it is but it's clearly worse than what was let on. Maybe that Raptors championship run really hurt this dude FORREAL forreal.

As much as I wanted KaLIE to come play for the Lakers, we may have really dodged a bullet there. No doubt we'd have given him the full max, and now who knows what this guy will have in him come playoffs.
