If there's a silver lining, at least it's during an easy stretch of the schedule, Rondo is back, and we have a couple D Leaguers we can check in on. Hopefully it doesn't keep him out too long.
our traded youth were all in suits the other night, so...we'd be doubly screwed had we not moved them? btw, once we traded "all our youth", anthony davis became our main hope. you know, instead of guys only a few years younger, even more fragile, and less effective (combined!). we win.
I've said repeatedly if BI and Zo play < 60 games then I can't argue against you all and must admit the trade was a win. They have to stay healthy or it doesn't matter how good they become. But AD has to remain at his 75 game pace two and three years ago as well. If he's playing 60 games this might not work either, unless we are intentionally resting him like Kawhi.
Hate that this happened to AB when he was playing so well - but I think we'll be fine. Caruso/Rondo/Cook is good and we can even throw KCP out there like we did against the Spurs? I'm not worried...
So realistically how long is he out? At least 2 weeks then an evaluation. But a fracture needs to heal and I would think a month or 2 at least. Maybe sit him out til after the all star break. We don’t need him for now.
We are deep @ guards and AB isn't really a PG anyways, more a wing with good D. As you said we already have to accommodate Rondo maybe he can take a que from LBJ and play some damn D again. Play Caruso a few more mins and also Cook is doing ok, not much for D but he's more of an offensive threat, 41% on treys. We'll be ok no need to call up from the D league yet.
Another chance to show the Bald Eagle matched against "GOATs". (Actually the closeup of the GOAT's face at .16 in tells you it will not be a fair fight). Start him!! Let's see what he's got when called upon in need by his team.
Yes where are you pulling that little tidbit of doom from, KJK, considering what has been reported and the Indian Name sounding Doctor Dude not far above in this thread seemed to think the prognosis was not that bad?
That’s an encouraging breakdown. I may have had something like that playing high school soccer—no fractures or anything, but it was only tender to the touch, and can’t remember any mobility issues. He’ll be good, and so will we with this upcoming schedule
Yes, we really did luck out all things considered. Because this could have turned into a stress fracture or been on a weight barring bone.
His defense will be missed but luckily we have a somewhat easy schedule coming up. Also luckily KCP is playing the best stretch of basketball he's played in awhile. This is why we're deep in our guard rotation.
It’s a hairline fracture...of course you want to err on the side of a more conservative timeline. And even though it’s not weight bearing (ie closer to the ankle)...still there’s a high amount of torsion in the knee joint...especially playing defense (ie change of direction slides).
