How's this for a random off the butt pulled from my wall semi serious take ..... :giggle:

At 35 LBJ has taken all that explosive energy he used to expend going coast to coast with soaring tomahawk jams (minus natural depreciation from age of course) and channeled it into going where he wants on the court .... at any speed he wants ....... at any damn time he wants ...... now. The guy is just a load out there and using his mass and speed smartly a lot more below the rim with better skills now.

I did not think his game would age this well. He's been amazing.

Whatever PED Lebron is using, I hope he takes it until he is 40. Lakers may end up winning 2 or 3 titles in that time.

i don't wish for injuries, but it would be kinda funny if non-load managed teams win in the playoffs because load-managed teams' stars got hurt. i'm sure adam silver would love it.

Interestingly enough, it really seems like he could play until he is 40. Not like this, of course, but he'd still be very useful as long as does not suffer a major injury.

With all his regular season games and playoff games, he has played 17 and a half seasons. That's based on 82 games a year. So, for the last 17 seasons, he has played the equivalent of 17 and a half years. Consistent dude.

We don't need him to. We only need him for this season and next until we get Giannis to take his place. :Crazyartest:

Giannis is staying in Mileewakey. Which in Algonquin means, "the good land"

Welcome to the tin-side...it’s fun over here. And here’s a nugget to help you conspire your theory further.

“It’s tough. It was tough, but that’s not happening this year,” Antetokounmpo told Yahoo Sports about getting upset with his coach’s decision to rest him periodically. “I was used to [former Bucks coach] Jason Kidd. He was breaking us down, but I was happy about it. I think I was the only one that was embracing that. I came from nothing and worked hard every day. That’s what I was used to.

“Having Jason Kidd was fun. Obviously, we didn’t break through from the first round, but it’s different. Like, if this is the middle, Jason Kidd was right here and Mike Bud is way over there [in coaching philosophy]. They’re totally different. Mike Bud wants you to rest, he wants you to stay with your family, but the day we work out, he wants you to be there and he wants you to give everything.”

The process of getting Antetokounmpo to take a night off isn’t the most pleasant experience for Budenholzer, but it has proven to be highly beneficial.

“He’s great. He’s just been so much fun to work with,” Budenholzer told Yahoo Sports. “A guy that works that hard, a guy that competitive, it’s hard to argue with him sometimes, but I still do. He knows I’m pretty stubborn and we’re both pretty stubborn. We can usually laugh about it later because I know we both have the same goals in mind.”

DISCLAIMER: we hired Jkidd and then shortly after, AD happened and then we tried to go all in on Kawhi, and had it worked, it essentially would have taken us out of the running for GiannisCap in 2021. So there’s that...

But if Kawhi still had a 2+1 deal and opted out and Bron opted out in ‘21, with only AD on the roster, then we suddenly have cap and Kidd elevated to head coach. So there’s that...

Or maybe Giannis could still have his Kidd fix with him as an assistant and Vogel still head coach if the Lakers are doing well under all of them as a staff. There's that too. ;)

    Never. Kneel.
Especially before fake self appointed kings.

That being said, he’s playing REALLY well for an older high mileage dude. However, the reality is that our two stars are NOT born closers.

I admire the ability and willingness to “Make the right play”, but that means this team needs someone clutch to show up in big moments when the big 2 falter. I’m not sure who that is yet.

He's had moments, and I definitely don't deny that. But at his core, and I don't think anyone can dispute this, he'll never be the guy that says "Give me the ball and get the hell out of the way. I'm about to shove it down your throat and there's nothing you can do about it."

AD is more finesse than power, and therefore can be kept out of the paint at key times.

Our team will need to rely on additional sources for buckets to close out games. Doesn't mean Lebron isn't one of the greatest to ever lace them up, but we all realize he has holes in his game. His one on one game is very limited. His post up game, although improving, is still limited.

This wasn't intended as a diss post in any way. Just an observation from what I'm seeing so far. Lebron has always been happy to defer to the Ray Allens, JR Smiths, Kyrie Irvings, Dwades, and Kevin Loves of the world in key closing moments. Without them, he'd be 1-8 in Finals? It's who he is.

I think it's ok to see that for what it is and plan around those facts. If he overachieves, great, but if not, let's be prepared.

I think KCP is our guy.

The more I think about it you're right. I've always liked KCP. Bunch of pile on haters around here.
