She’s right. They’re incentivized to duck the bucks, but how do you fix that? You can’t fairly enforce anti-rest rules. All you can do is make sure you don’t do any favors for offenders...
The Clippers fall to the Bucks and are now 7th in the West. I could see the load management biting them in the a** late in the season as they fight for the 7th/8th seeds.
^ nothing would make me happier... but that's not happening, they're 1.5 games behind I wouldn't mind playing them in the first round though. A lot of pressure on both teams but hell, you gotta beat "the best" to be the best. I also wouldn't mind if they lost to someone else and we could have a cakewalk
Speaking about the fans , I recently discovered a website where you can insure your game ticket against the risk of a certain player ( your choice) missing the game ( rest and injury). You get 50% or 100% ( your choice) of your price ticket back while still going to the game. fansure.com Great idea !
Cry me a Rivers can f*** it up ... He's just a rich version of Luke as a coach imo I don't think he adds much value besides getting along well with his players
there are people who swear rivers is a great Xs and Os guy, but it doesn't jump out at me. he's historically done a pretty good job getting a lot out of marginal rosters (in orlando and recently with lac). i view the boston title/contention years as being handed to him, though. those vets coached themselves, for the most part. so, it's hard to say. one could argue he underacheived with prime CP, griffin, and jordan. once again he gets a stacked roster with leonard and george as very easy guys to just plug and play with any system. i think he's overrated and has been quite lucky. as wc said: luke walton could win with the group he's got now, with the boston group, etc. as for looking to the future, pretty sure the clips will finish with a top record. once george gets back, i'm guessing they'll stop resting guys in the big games and start resting one of the two against the bad teams and still beating them like a drum. the one thing that should concern them is that lou williams is old. he plays a very important role there that can't be replaced by anyone on the roster. if he went down for any length, they'd have to really ride their two big horses, each of whom apparently needs gentle treatment.
oh, or the clippers are the dynastic bulls: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2019/11/6/20950629/los-angeles-clippers-kawhi-leonard-paul-george
Does Sweet Lou ever gets injured? I think that for the past 4-5 years he's closer to AC Green than Embiid...
Kawhi shot 4-12 when guarded by Green and 7-8 when guarded by KCP . It DID matter who guarded him . This guy is drawing a lot of conclusions 7 games into the season ....
Plus... we'll get Iggy, right? On a serious note, i wouldn't be shocked if he ends up on the Rockets... or Clippers. Don't know how, just a feeling. Also, we need a C Bags style "filter" for the Tennants.
They are a better team right now - I don't think we're far behind, but I do think we need to add another piece or two, possibly. Just my opinion...
they are, both on paper and on the court. but the issue is whether that's what things will look like in june. rosters can change, injuries happen, etc. in fact, every single year the title picture is impacted by key injuries. you just hope it's not you. people say they're deep and we're thin, but really, each team has about 4 guys that if one of them goes down, they're really screwed. in other words, all the depth is kind of illusory. helps you win regular season games, but if we've got everybody and they don't have lou in a playoff series, we probably beat them. of course, if utah has everybody and we don't have kuz and green or something, we can lose. i find the breathless certainty of world domination to be sorta funny is all. for all we know, paul george will basically be a glorified patrick patterson in their offense, and they'll look basically the same with him as they do without. or maybe they'll win literally all of their games, as the author of that article implies.
They are better because they were smarter than us in acquiring serviceable role players for basically nothing . They got Harkless , Zubac and McGruder for free and Green for Bradley who was terrible for them. This is crazy when you think about it
