Dragic + Miami 1st round 2023 lottery protected pick (unprotected in 2026) was a possibility (part of the Butler for Harkless for George trades) and since dude would take up 19.2m of our salary cap, we would have had still 15m to go get Green...just sayin.

Oh and unlike Rondo & Caruso, he has proven and continues to prove this year that he can handle high usage responsibilities as a playmaker. I’m sure Bron would approve.

As for Dudz...agree to disagree bro. I would instantly give up his roster spot for a backup 4/5 that can help in short burst high intensity minutes (ie Noah, who we worked out along with Dwight). Daniels gets the cut for Iggy buyout if/when that happens.

    Thoughts on IT coming back?

Smaller role now and looks healthier

Daniels/Cook + 2026 2nd 31-40 protected +cash for IT and filler (if cook, cut the guy)

    If we get Iggy:

Main rotation come deep playoff time?

    Avery/Green/Iggy/Lebron/AD
    IT/KCP, Caruso, or Daniels/Kuzma/Dwight

No space for Rondo with that rotation

    Can also start:
    IT/Green/Lebron/AD/Dwight
    Rondo?/Avery/Iggy/Kuzma

Maybe still have kcp or daniels

IT still thinks he’s the man.

I’d let another team verify health first before even considering. That said, since we care about defense, can’t see the fit.

    Hear me out though:
    1) We have the defense to cover for him if he plays in spurts. He would likely be more valuable than Rondo. Both can't play any D. At least IT can score a bit and shoot better
    2) We need another creator, that isn't debatable. Is Rondo really going to be the guy?

Is he under contract, or just off healing? I thought he was with Denver for some reason

Man, if the Lakers somehow got Dragic, that would be it. He is EXACTLY what they need.

    KAWHI :swear::swear:

Could have had Dragic and Green (3 year deal starting at 11M a year this year)
    Dragic, Green, Lebron, AD, Wagner
    Rondo, Avery, Daniels, Kuzma, Dwight
Caruso vet min, THT, sign another vet min, Dudley

Hope to add Iggy to that

He's playing in Washington. Surprisingly a lot of ex Lakers on that team.

i've only seen IT for a few minutes this year, but he looked borderline unplayable to me. i know some of our former guys in washington look ok in box scores, but look at that roster--somebody has to get stats. that's a terrible roster saved from threatening the league's loss record by beal miraculously not demanding a trade.

That would be perfect, but the Heat are playing well right now. They arent going to waive or trade Dragic unless they suffer a bunch of injuries.

lol, the other day you wanted him and i was thinking: this guy basically ended up nailed to the bench in portland, who could have really used him.

and then i see highlights from last night of him raining fire on the rockets from all angles.

time will tell which was the key variable there.

keep him in his lane I suppose, same way Howard has been. He was a lotto pick for Por so maybe he thought he had to be "star" for them which he isn't....and he's a role player, I'm not expecting him to do what he did to Hou everynight but he is a threat from 3's which is enough to help open up the paint for AD/James more, right now Mcgee isn't doing us any favors with his low IQ play's thus far

6-11 Noah played 4 when 7-1 Pau made his way to Chicago.

Throughout his career, Noah has had exposure at the 4.

He most certainly could back up AD and play alongside with dude as a former DPoY 5...just like Dwight is now.

Dwight and Noah worked out together for the vacancy and when Dwight got it via a nonguaranteed deal, some were saying it was still a waste of a roster spot?

Yet Dudz is sitting there (like literally sitting there) with healthy DNPs and avg 8mins in the 4 games he checked into.

Uh, kinda like our coaching (where there were talks of having a Lue/Vogs tandem), you know you could have both Dwight and Noah on the team right now.

Cow Town could look to move some of their mistakes

If KCP didn't have a no trade clause, December 15th I'd trade him for either Ariza or Joseph.

Ariza would be an interesting get if Iggy is unavailable.
