Agree on both. I don't like cliches but I couldn't help but feel like the Clippers "wanted it more" last night.

We got worked on the boards tonight...

Honestly, we have no chance against the Clippers in perimeter players. Our only advantage is in the post and the size that we have...but you look at the stat sheet...

    Clippers have

    more rebounds
    more offensive rebounds
    more second chance points
    more points in the paint

and their 2nd best player is missing.

Pathetic performance as we literally got worked by the Clippers, especially late in game when we tried to force feed Davis who disappeared in the 4th.

I actually thought that this loss was encouraging. They beat us in every categories, yet we were tie going to the 4th quarter. This is a hit or miss league. We missed on 6 straight possessions start of the 4th, and some of them were WIDE open look for Quinn Cook, Davis and LBJ. I don't expect us to miss most of those looks this whole season. What frustrating was Lou Williams killed us all night, and we waited till the 4th to start trapping him on the pick n roll. Like I've stated, this is a HIT or miss league, and last night the Clippers were hitting all their wide open 3s, while we were missing most of our open looks. The Clippers were shooting over 52% last night, and sometimes you just have to give it to them.

Utah will spank us. Good thing our 3rd game is against the Hornets (that's a W, right)?

Disheartening loss. I don't like to give them credit but I agree with Elgin, they wanted it a lot more than our guys. That fourth quarter was horrendous. Lebron looked very human out there during that stretch. And I'm with JSM, I think we actually did need Rondo or at least Caruso out there for some playmaking. Hopefully we won't have to see much more of that (no backup playmakers).

I also hope that Kuz can provide some much needed scoring punch off the bench. Their bench destroyed ours in that regard.

Bottom line though, they look like a real matchup problem for us. If we could somehow get Iggy we would be in much better shape.

    KCP.

Also, too much iso. We need our PGs back soon which will result in better ball movement. Other than that, it's just one game, we'll play better once the team gels.

Sweet Lou costs $8 million and we're paying the same amount for KCP.

I think the biggest issue was that we didn't have any ballhandlers good enough to make Beverly and their other guards pay for being overly aggressive. It pains me to say it, but Rondo does help fill that need. Hopefully we can upgrade at some point during the year, but really if we add Kuz, Iggy, and then sprinkle in a mix of Rondo/Caruso, I'm not too worried. Lebron was mostly bad, AD was just okay in terms of what he can do, and we were still in it.

Absolutely. KCP was the tax we had to pay for getting AD. And I'd do it 20 times out of 20. Just frustrated that we let a guy like him go when he could have added real value to our team, and hard not to compare him to KCP since it's the same salary and KCP is a bum.

Yeah. Magic and Rob did a poor job planning, I agree.

The bad news is I think only Bron , AD and Green have the minimum level/impact required to compete against the very best teams in the league .

Just one game but not enough contributors to a championship team imo .

Bron/AD will have to reach Shaq/Kobe levels for us to have a chance .

We better make some moves through the season

I will say we haven't seen Kuz yet in action and he could be key for us. Although we really do need a defensive wing such as Iggy if we are going to truly compete.

Kuz, Iggy and even Rondo can be the key to our success. Our starters are fine, its when the (current) bench comes in that's concerning. I was hoping Vogel would stagger a bit instead of the Luke-like hokey subs he did yesterday though.

Without Rondo the bench lacks a playmaker, every shot attempt is a struggle.
Kuz would be the go to scorer, takes a lot of pressure off AD and Lebron to score.
Iggy is the other defensive wing we need, I have no faith in KCPoop at all for anything. Also the dude's a champion, he and Green are the vets we need on a championship team.

When KCP played in Detroit and I had no idea who he was, a few people reminded that he is very close to All -Star level.
    Yea ,right
