He tore his ACL on a non-contact drive to the basket during a workout. DMC would have eventually tore his ACL. His body is breaking down on him. I would say he may have made a crucial mistake playing in the Finals on that torn quad. He should have just stayed out for the year and let his body truly heal especially coming off the Achilles injury.

My top 3 Center to replace DeMarcus would be...
    Dwight
    Joakim Noah
    Kenneth Faried

    Who would you guys want?

Or have Devontae Cacok make the roster and sign him after pre-season.

We’re trying to win a championship this season, we can’t rely on rookies or Dwights. Hell no to that clown, for locker room reasons, for injury concern reasons, just hell no. I’d look at Noah, Nene, Gortat, Faried, and Mejri ahead of him and I don’t really like any of those players either.

Noah played pretty scrappy motivated on the Grizzlies didn't he last year?
Seemed like he was making a point&serious again.

Dwight Howard... yeah, he scares me a little but salary would be so low that the reward could be worthwhile.
YOU KNOW, he'd go all out in the playoffs IMO...Cause that would be Dwight. Opportunity to shine light on himself in peak position.

Faried is too short for my taste.

There’s only so much you can ask of me as a fan. I’m already having to root for LeBron, Rondo, KCP, and Dudley. Dwight is crossing the line.

Please go after Noah. I’m not a big fan, but he did call LeBron a b**** one time, so he’s cool with me.

What are good Euroleague centers? Preferably ones who can shoot the 3. We need to think outside the box. There should be some decent 2nd string centers out there in the global market.

So what is Memphis going to allow him to talk to us in hopes we really want to bring him in and they hold him hostage until we offer something?

He's the best big available. Argument can be made for Noah, but I think the past with LBJ will be the kiss of death for that possibility.

If he's truly without ego and ready to do the things required to contribute, I'm good with this. He can still get you easy buckets and boards. He's a talent, and we can't shew people away when we HAVE to be contenders this season. We gutted our roster for AD... We have to play well enough to lock him down for the next 5 years.

I get that people may not like Dwight for a variety of reasons, but I think he could redeem himself here with LeBron and a more “fun” environment than it was with Kobe.

If Faried can be had, I’m cool with that plan, but at this point...you need someone to take a load off McGee for at least 15 minutes and I bet Dwight could do that more easily now.

I feel like he’s earned some redemption in this situation. Plus, he’d just be doing like Boogie too, playing for a bigger/longer contract so........

For what it's worth, Dwight had some monster games/stretches with the Hornets a season ago. Washington was just a lost season in a horrible situation for him.

    January stretch, for example.

maybe they think howard will agree to a lower buy out amt once he gets a guarantee from a team (like ours) i.e. he gets vet min here thus he agrees to take less than half of his current contract on a buy out

It’s all about health. What available center is healthy enough to last and contribute in the playoffs? Don’t care about the past, who called Lebron a b****, who was a prima-donna. Just want a ring, THIS SEASON.

Frankly, I'm shocked our front office is even considering this, given the history. But even if I was willing to let bygones be bygones (and I'm NOT), his problems go beyond maturity. For starters, he is undersized at 6'9 now that his athleticism is gone and he can't play above the rim, he's injury prone, he still can't hit free throws (last time he played 10 or more games in a season he was shooting 57%), and he's also just an all around moron/imbecile, which goes beyond maturity, and which you can't fix. We have a bunch of bad options, and they're all better than Dwight.

dwight's not the same guy he was when he played for the lakers. he's basically admitted he damaged his own career because of his antics earlier this decade

if they signed him i'd fully expect him to come in, shut up, and do his job. especially playing with lebron and AD. the weird butt muscle injury is worrisome but he wasn't bad at all when he played last season and was very good with the hornets a few years ago

i'd be just as fine with noah or faried though. but after those 3 there's no one. nene? gortat? lol hard pass
